Chapter 10 - Max

Emma shifts us over until she’s straddling my hips.

She looks down at me with a sly grin before starting to move. Using the last of her energy, she rocks and bounces on my hard cock.

I place my rough hands on her curvy ass, helping to guide her movements. She looks so beautiful like this - hair messily framing her flushed face, body glistening with sweat.

I can't believe this gorgeous woman is my girlfriend now and the mother of my future child.

As she rides me, part of me still can't comprehend how lucky I am. For so long, I never thought I deserved happiness or a real family. But in this moment, nothing else matters except Emma and how her tight walls are squeezing me.

Her slick core slides up and down my shaft, driving me closer to the edge with every bounce. I gaze up at her in awe, committing every gorgeous detail to memory.

"Emma..." I groan out her name in warning as the pressure builds to a fever pitch. "I'm so close, baby."

But she doesn't slow down. Instead, she leans forward, breasts brushing against my heaving chest as she pants in my ear.

"No need to be careful anymore."

Then she's laying on top of me fully, rolling her hips and milking every drop from my throbbing length. I grunt out curses mixed with her name, pulling her impossibly closer as wave after wave of hot release spills inside her.

"You're going to be such an amazing mother," I rasp against the sweat-dampened skin of her neck.

Emma wraps her arms around me, holding me just as tightly as the aftershocks roll through us both. We stay tangled like that for endless blissful minutes, catching our breaths in sync.

Still breathing hard, Emma nuzzles into my neck.

"You're going to be an amazing father too."

"Yeah?" I run my fingers through her tangled blonde curls. "Even though I have no idea what I'm doing?"

"Neither do I," she laughs softly. "But we'll figure it out together."

We shift until we're lying face to face, my hand naturally finding its way to her stomach. Our baby is in there. The thought still amazes me.

"What kind of school should they go to?" Emma asks suddenly. "Public like where I teach, or private?"

"Public," I answer without hesitation. "Kids need to learn about the real world and meet all kinds of people. Besides, maybe they'll end up in your class."

She grins. "That would be interesting. Though they might get special treatment from Ms. Rose."

"They better not," I tease. "No favoritism allowed, even for little Thompson. And what about sports? I played football in high school."

"Whatever they want to try," Emma says firmly. "No pressure. Though I wouldn't mind if they took dance classes like I did."

"A dancing firefighter?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Who says they'll be a firefighter?"

"Good point. They could be a teacher like their gorgeous mama."

Emma's eyes soften. "Or join the military like their brave daddy did."

"As long as they're happy," I say, meaning it. "That's all I want. Better than what I had growing up."

"Max..." She touches my face gently. "You turned out pretty amazing without parents showing you the way. Imagine how great our kid will be with both of us loving them."

"And spoiling them," I add. "Though we should probably agree on food rules now. No sugar before bed?"

"Says the man who keeps emergency candy bars in his turnout gear."

"That's different! Fighting fires burns calories."

She laughs, the sound warming my chest.

"Fine. But healthy breakfasts are non-negotiable. And they have to try vegetables at least once."

"Deal." I kiss her forehead. "What about holidays? Your family or the station?"

"Both," she decides. "Christmas morning at home, lunch with my family, dinner with your crew. They're family too."

The way she includes my firefighter brothers without hesitation makes me love her even more.

"You know Chief Luke will insist on being called Grandpa."

"Better than what Aunt Linda will want to be called. Probably something fancy like 'Grand-mère'."

We both crack up at that. When the laughter fades, Emma's expression turns thoughtful.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask.

"Just... everything. How different our lives will be in a few months. Doctor appointments, birthing classes, building a nursery..."

"Converting my man cave into a baby room," I add dramatically.

She swats my chest. "You don't even have a man cave."

"I could have gotten one! Now, we'll never know."

"Poor baby," she says mockingly. "Having to give up your imaginary room for our actual baby."

I capture her lips in a tender kiss.

"Worth it. All of it. Every single change coming our way? Worth it for you and our little one."

"Even the midnight feedings?"

"Even those. Though you might have to wake me up. I sleep like the dead after long shifts."

"I know." She yawns, curling closer. "We should probably get some rest. Tomorrow we need to start planning everything."

"Everything?"

"Doctor appointments, prenatal vitamins, telling my students I'm going to get fat..."

I tighten my arms around her.

"You're going to get beautiful. More beautiful."

Her answering smile is sleepy but radiant.

"I love you, Max Thompson."

"I love you too, Emma Rose. Both of you."
