I t took every bit of willpower I could muster to just turn away from her and go to bed. But I knew if I didn’t, she would never come to me. The Need was strong— I could smell it in her scent. Aurora was stubborn, though. She was probably going to hold out as long as she possibly could—which unfortunately was going to be agony for both of us.

Still , there was nothing I could do but wait.

I tried to sleep, but all I could think about was the feeling of her soft little hands exploring me—stroking my shaft and cupping my balls. She had been so tentative at first…but then she seemed to like it. I fucking loved it too, of course. The touch of a Fated Mate’s hand is ten times more pleasurable than anything else.

It’s one reason you almost never find a Brute who cheats on his wife—why would he when her touch is pure ecstasy and the feel of anyone else’s hand on his shaft is like fucking sandpaper? Also , the Soul - Binding draws him close to the only woman he loves.

We Brutal Clansmen might do a lot of terrible and illegal things and live sinful lives, but you can’t add cheating to our list of sins—we absolutely never fuck around on our wives.

So I lay there, my shaft still throbbing from Aurora’s gentle touch and waited for her to come to me. And waited…and waited…and waited…

But she didn’t come. I could hear her shifting restlessly beside me, but her stubborn pride was keeping her away. Fuck — I wanted so badly to roll over and gather her into my arms but I couldn’t. I had to wait—it had to be her idea to come to me, not me forcing her to come. The Need had to overcome her stubborn pride and bring her to me.

I wondered if that would ever happen. And as I was wondering, I finally drifted into an uneasy sleep.
