28. Chapter Twenty-Eight
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Daisy
E very nerve is on fire with energy. Micah’s blood is mixing with mine, causing my soul to light up. My thoughts are scattered, and his blood is the only thing that sticks.
I remember endless amounts of pain. My body changing rapidly. When I woke, nothing mattered except finding my mate and feeding. There is a burning in my throat that nothing but his blood will satisfy. Seeing others around Micah pissed me off. I wanted all his attention. I want to be the only thing he sees. My coyote was ready to tear them apart for being near him.
Thankfully, they left quickly. Even though I knew they were friends, the demon inside didn’t want anything in my way, and I would have fought anyone who did.
The difference in my coyote is drastic. Her body has grown, bigger than any other of my species. My mind is connected to Micah in a way I didn’t expect. All I have to do is think about the words I want to say to him and push them towards him. His emotions are open and flowing into me. I feel his pride. His love. His desire.
All my senses are enhanced even more. I can pick up the quietest sound. I hear everything from miles around, my hearing before was good, but this is next level. Micah’s heartbeat syncs with mine, and I can see the pulse on his neck. The touch of Micah’s hand on my skin is even better than before, and I shiver.
“I want you,” I cry, pushing into his hand.
“Take me,” he dares, and I desperately reach for his jeans.
My fingers move faster than my thoughts. All I have to do is think about what I want to do and they act before the thought completely forms. I yank the zipper down and it shatters in my hand and my nose wrinkles.
“How?” I whisper.
“You have the strength of a vampire, love,” Micah says, grinning. I frown but forget what I was frowning about when I palm him.
“Yes,” I hiss.
“Climb on,” Micah orders, and I happily obey.
“Daddy,” I gasp, dropping down.
“Fuck, yes.” He circles my waist with his other arm. “Ride me,” he encourages. The push and pull begins. I didn’t think sex with Micah could get any better.
It is euphoric.
“Micah, I love you,” I moan.
“I love you, too, pet.” He flexes his hand, and pulls my mouth to his. I claimed his blood, now I want to claim his body.
Our teeth clash as the kiss continues, our breath mixing, our tongues tangling, savoring. My fang cuts his lip, and his blood drips, but nothing matters.
His cock is hard and deep and I welcome him.
I break away gasping for breath, but my hips don’t stop. I will never get enough.
“Daddy, please.”
“What do you need, pet?”
“I—” I shake my head. I just need more.
“Do you want Daddy to take control?”
“Yes.” The words barely leave my lips and I am flipped to my back, the cushions vibrating from the impact. He moves me to my side, my legs pushed together and up by his hand on the back of my knees. He thrusts inside me and I moan, the sensation overwhelming. His palm presses by my head as he completely covers me as his hips slap against mine.
“Better, pet?”
“Oh, yeah,” I rasp. My walls tighten, pulling him as deep as possible. “Daddy, I’m going to come.”
“No,” he denies. “Hold on.”
“I can’t,” I cry.
“Yes, you can.”
“Fuck.” My skin is so sensitive, every slide of his body on mine brings me closer. “Please.”
“Daddy wants you to wait, pet.”
I bite my lip. “Yes, Daddy.” What else can I do? He dips his head, latching onto my nipple and I almost tip over the edge. His beard scratching over my skin makes my pussy tingle with every rub.
“Such a good pet,” he hums against my skin. “You feel so fucking good. Your pussy was made to hold me.”
“Jesus,” I groan, my hand slapping the back cushion. If I touch him, I know I won’t be able to last. I reach up with my other hand and tangle my fingers in my hair, pulling, hoping to distract my body. Instead of helping, I want it to be Micah’s hand.
I feel every inch of his hard cock as he drags over my G-spot. I think I may die from the pleasure. My head thrashes when he sucks my skin at the base of my throat. His arm is so close, and I want to bite. I want to feel his blood coating my throat.
“Now, pet,” he commands and I come. “Drink.” He starts to come and we bite at the same time.
The bond tightens even more with our exchange.
He will forever be mine, and my world is complete.
“My legs don’t hurt,” I say, and the hand gliding over my back stops.
“I’m glad, love,” he responds, and continues stroking. “I never want to hurt you.” He carried me to the bed after he sated my hunger for his blood and body. I lay on my stomach, my arms folded under the pillow. He is propped on his elbow beside me and has been quiet. We have been settling in our bond.
“No, I mean, the pain is permanently gone. I have lived with a dull pain for years, and it’s hard to believe it’s truly gone.” I blink back my tears. All my emotions are on a rollercoaster ride.
“Gone?” he asks, pushing up.
“Yes,” I whisper. He palms my thigh and travels down my leg. “Even if it comes back, I’m grateful to have a break.” His fingers circle my ankle.
“Daisy, the coin is gone,” he says.
“What?” I didn’t notice, but I roll to my side and replace his fingers. “How?”
“Your vampire side must have pushed the foreign object out,” he assumes, sliding his hand under the sheets. “Holy shit.” He holds up the coin, and then places it in my palm.
“I meant what I said,” I say, gazing at it and back up. “I want to give it to my mom.”
“It’s a great plan,” he says.
“You don’t care about the money?” I ask. Most people would.
“Love,” he chuckles. “I’ve had plenty of years to save money. Give it to them. They deserve it after the hell they went through.”
I reach around him and put it on the side table before climbing onto his lap. “I love you.”
“Daisy, I love you, too,” he whispers, brushing my hair back. “I’ve never had a home.” I wrap my arms around his shoulders. “When she was alive, Maddy was my home. After she was gone, I didn’t think I would find that again. I met the dragons and Saphira, and they became my home in many ways. Saphira, more than her brothers, because she was with me more. Then she didn’t need me as much, which is expected, but we always kept in touch, and she would travel with me.
“Eventually, I met Quinn and Heath. We lived together for twelve years, but we never had a home. They are my brothers, even after we went our separate ways.” He moves us across the bed, and he leans on the headboard. “I missed them, but my life didn’t stop. I continued the work, and Bash began working with me. I had already known Ryker and Bash, but didn’t really visit or talk on a regular basis.” I fold my hands on the back of his neck, and he drops his hands to my thighs.
“I don’t know where I grew up, and I never settled anywhere for long. Isn't it funny how all the people I mentioned gravitated here? They didn’t meet each other until the panthers started this crew, but I was the common denominator. I saw it happening, and have been back numerous times, but not for long. I’ve held myself back from moving here, too. Once I did, I met a best friend in Sally and got to see the beautiful, strong woman Saphira grew up to be. I realized they are my family. I was wandering the world alone when I didn’t need to.”
He puts his hand over my heart. “Because of them, I met you. I admire what they have built here, and the loyalty they show. I don’t ever want to lose their presence in my life. They are my family, but you are my home.” My eyes fill, and my heart thuds. “A home isn’t a building. If you want to buy something else here or travel for years, it doesn't matter. Wherever you are, is my home.” He presses to emphasize his point. “You are a woman who I admire. I am so fucking proud you are my mate. Your species doesn’t define you. The loyalty. Your giving heart. Those are the things that matter.” He touches his head to mine. “I love you. I am thrilled the pain is gone, but I will still carry you anywhere you want to go.” He kisses me softly and leans back.
I take a deep breath, attempting to calm my racing heart, and my overflowing emotions.
“I had a family, but thought I lost them. I lived in fear, alone, even though I had people around me, hoping someday I would get my family back. I lived in a house that wasn’t a home. As I was running through the trees, I thought the end was coming. I couldn’t run forever. When you flew through the forest and grabbed Henry by the neck…” I shake my head. “I knew my prayers had been answered. The universe sent me an angel. An ancient angel, with tattoos, gorgeous eyes, and a body I wanted to worship. I wasn’t scared. I have never been scared of you because I knew you would protect me. My hopeful heart knew you would protect it, not just my body. You have,” I whisper. “You have accepted my limitations. You have carried me when no one else noticed the pain. Things no one else bothered to see, are the things you do first. I had the courage to go after my family because I had you on my side. I was meant to be your mate. My demon is inside me as though I have been a vampire for years. Your blood steadies me. I feel the power of it flowing through every cell. When I was alone in a house full of people, I didn’t think the future would hold such magic.” I tap my chest. “I feel you here. I didn’t need the bond to tell me your emotions. I have felt it with every touch, every word, the trust you gave me, and the loyalty you show me.” I cup his face. “I want to stay here with your family. I would love to travel with you, but we will always come back. You are the family I always wanted. I will always crave our connection.” I lean close, teasing his lips. “I will always crave my vampire.”
