26. Chapter 26
I would have loved nothing more than to spend the rest of the day in bed with the incredible seffy. Unfortunately duty and a battle with the Chrymphten was calling.
I cursed, it was just my luck that I would have the most delectable seffy I had ever encountered in my bed and willing when the lure of a battle called me into a different direction.
We did steal an hour or so though, before I took a shower and readied myself for the last meeting with the other vissigroths. Vissigroths Wyltham, Claymor and Duncayn had already left for their part in the mission, to attack the Chrymphten’s flanks and back. The rest of us would organize a strike from Oceanus. Their fleets were being recalled right now, to enter Oceanus from the Chrymphten’s blind spot to make their way, underwater, to the agreed upon meeting spot, where my fleet was already manned and ready to break through the waves.
Tomorrow we’ll strike , I thought grimly. Tomorrow would see the end of the Chrymphten threat for a long time. With their fleet mostly destroyed they would tug their tails between their legs and return to their own side of the galaxy. Licking their wounds until they were ready to strike again.
In the meantime, we would hold a Vissigroths Council meeting on Leandar, under Susserayn Myccael and decide if we were going to take advantage of the Chrymphten’s weakened state and attack them for a change.
The idea had been brought up and it wasn’t a bad one. Except if we did, we would have to decide on the survivor’s fate, we would have to leave a contingent of dragoons on their main planet to ensure no rebellions would rise or decimate the Chrymphten to the last.
That wasn’t the Leandar way. We didn’t set out and kill the defeated but with the renewed human contact we couldn’t chance our attention to be distracted. Humans were cunning and had already begged to house more of their kind. Our focus needed to be on them.
I sighed, this was for Myccael to decide. I didn’t envy him for that responsibility but was sure that the meeting was going to be a heated one.
Movement on the bed drew my attention back to Niara. She was stretching like a synn, smiling up at me, inviting me to rejoin her.
“I have to go meet the other vissigroths,” I said, fastening my belt and shoulder protection that called out my status.
“I should check on the equipment, make sure your men understand how to melt and make new tanks.” She pulled the blanket around her and moved to the bathroom.
By the door she hesitated, “I will meet you here again? Later? ”
I tilted my head, scrutinized her, not understanding her sudden meekness.
“A dragoon will be with you at all times.” I assured her. “He will guard and guide you. There will be another feast tonight, where I will see you.”
She looked so insecure standing there, that I hesitated to leave. Something was on her mind, but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what.
“I…” she looked down, bit on her lip. Where had my feisty seffy gone? The one that pushed out her claws at any given opportunity.
The door to the bathroom opened, one of us must have left the light on inside, because suddenly it shone on her with a brightening intensity. So bright, I had to narrow my eyes not to be blinded.
Impossibly, rays of light highlighted her figure clad in the ridiculous bedsheet, caught the gold of her hair, making her shine like a goddess.
Fraysa!
Impossible.
And yet.
My mouth opened and closed at the realization that Fraysa herself was showing me my querilly. How had I not known sooner?
“Mine,” I growled, and then louder, “MINE!”
“Myles?” Alarmed Niara’s head lifted large, grey eyes stared at me.
I reached her side with two large steps, impossibly, the light around her became even brighter.
Niara , I thought .
My fated mate. The one I searched for in every one of my lives. The one that would complete it.
Niara was the seffy who had always been at my side throughout our many reincarnations.
Mine to protect.
Mine to shelter.
Mine to provide for.
Mine to give my life to.
Shocked, enthralled and in utter delight, I took Niara’s hands in mine, falling on one knee in front of her.
“Myles?” Confusion was written all over her face. I doubted she had any idea of the significance of what was happening, what I was doing. She had been born in the Leandar system, zyn, but she wasn’t a Leandar. These things were told from mother to daughter, from father to son.
In this case I would have to guide her and my heart rejoiced with the responsibility of it. She was mine.
For some odd reason the gods had chosen to bring my beloved back in human form in this life and I would not argue with Fraysa’s wisdom. The gods had plans for each of us, for every one of our many lives.
I didn’t think that Niara knew that a vissigroth only bowed twice in his life. Once to his susserayn to receive the honor of having the title of vissigroth formerly bestowed upon him and the second time only to his fated mate.
I lowered myself on one knee and placed one of Niara’s hands on top of my head.
As if under a spell herself, Niara bent forward, placed her free hand over my erratically beating heart. I bowed my head in utter submission to her. My querilly. Completing one of the sacred three binding ceremonies. One of the two only done in private between a male and his querilly.
She was my light, my life. My soul and my heart. This was the submission ceremony. First the male submitted. Then the seffy.
I lifted my head and our eyes met, hers were still wide and confused, even though, something seemed to rear inside her, making her remember things she shouldn’t have even known as a human.
“Fraysa has led me to you,” I began my vow, “I swear on my life that I will forever be bound to you. I will protect you with my life, honor you with every breath I take and love you with every beat of my heart. You are mine and I am yours.”
Her lips opened and the words she couldn’t have possibly known spilled out of her, “Forever, Myles.”
Her voice turned more confident as the words poured from her lips and the ethereal light around her glowed. “I am yours, as you are mine. This I swear from now until forever.”
I rose and pulled her against me. Slowly I descended on her sweet lips. Her arms crossed around my neck as our kiss sealed our fate.
The light that had encompassed her, grew and embraced me as well, before it exploded into a million golden sparks.
Niara stared just as enraptured by the spectacle as I, “What is happening?”
“Fraysa is welcoming us into her arms.” I explained, as the lights, enfolded us like a veil, Fraysa’s veil .
Particles shining like diamonds, landed on our exposed skin, kissed and blessed us, before the veil lifted and took off into the air as if it had never been there in the first place.
“Myles?”
“Niara,” I rasped, filled with a hunger for her I had never experienced before.
“You are mine,” I told her, moving my hand to the back of her neck, capturing the fragile bones and flesh under my fingers.
“Oh,” her eyes lit up. She freed her body of the sheet covering her, and turned under my grip.
“Take me,” she whispered and allowed herself to be led, naked, to the table, where she placed herself belly down. “I am yours.”
She couldn’t have known this. But she did. Her legs spread in invitation, tearing the last of my willpower from me.
With a growl I first caressed her rounded butt cheeks, offered so freely to me, then my fingers caressed the tender flesh between her labia and found her slick and ready for me.
I freed my cock and she arched under me as I entered her with a roar.
She brushed her long, blonde hair to the side, offering her neck and my right hand found its way back around it, dominating her in her submission just as she had dominated me earlier in hers.
The desire to be fully united with her grew with every thrust.
