I t felt like an eternity before Kitsuki could retire to his room to reunite with his mate. As soon as they were alone in the bedroom, Kitsuki was on Auslin in an instant, smothering him in demanding kisses. He was less than pleased when Auslin stopped him.

"Before we get too distracted, your sister gave us a mating gift."

"It can wait," Kitsuki growled, not interested in anything other than getting Auslin naked and under him.

Auslin took a small box out of his pocket, then opened it to show Kitsuki the two rings inside of it. "Kizoshi said I'm supposed to wear the silver one and you wear the purple one on our left ring fingers. She called them a bond amplifier but didn't really explain any details. She only said we'd appreciate exploring it."

Despite wanting to move on to intimately enjoying their reunion, Kitsuki took out the silver ring and slid the ring onto Auslin's finger before reverently kissing it while looking up at his mate through lowered lashes. "Fascinating." Auslin snuggled against Kitsuki. "And just when I thought our bond couldn't get any more amazing."

Kitsuki chuckled. His heart had never felt so free as love echoed through their connection. Auslin had been more than worth the centuries of waiting.
