46. Auslin

Chapter 46

Auslin

W ho knew it was possible to feel so good? Certainly not Auslin. But the sensation of his bondmate moving inside him and filling him with his knot was a pleasure Auslin couldn't get enough of experiencing. He hadn't realized how alone he felt until Kitsuki shared a space in his soul. It made Auslin feel complete in a way he never knew was possible.

"Was my dragon too rough?" Kitsuki asked, concern echoing through their new connection.

Auslin smiled at him. "No, everything was perfect." He stretched with a satisfied moan. "I've never felt better in my life. Knotting is officially my new favorite thing."

"I am glad to hear it." Kitsuki nuzzled against Auslin. "We feel the same way."

Auslin held his arm up to study the newly altered lines on his skin. The silver encircling his purple markings was the most beautiful thing Auslin had ever seen. "Incredible." Auslin brought his arm down and held up Kitsuki's hand to look at the mirroring design. "I feel even closer to you now."

Kitsuki rolled onto his back, then guided Auslin to curl up at his side while they cuddled. Auslin had never felt more relaxed and at peace in his life. "Do you think Kisano and Sephen will mate tonight?"

"There is a high probability of them being inspired to act because of us." Kitsuki rubbed Auslin's arm as he held him. "They deserve the same happiness as us."

"It's like Sephen was made for Kisano." Auslin snuggled closer with a contented sigh. "They're perfect for each other."

"I cannot imagine anyone better suited for my brother."

Silence fell between them as Auslin basked in the warm glow of satisfaction echoing between them. His fingers instinctively sought Maseo's pendant Kitsuki protected. "I really hope he finds someone, too."

"Maseo?"

Auslin nodded as he continued toying with the glowing orb. He loved the intricate filigree, which allowed the indigo magic of the Wish Power to shine through the silver. It was so beautiful up close. Auslin regretted he never complimented Maseo on it in the past. But Kio would have blown up and probably taken it from Maseo, so it was for the best Auslin had kept his opinions to himself. "I hate thinking of him being out there all alone. If anyone deserves a loving mate, it's him."

"I am confident he will find his person someday."

Auslin wondered what kind of mate would suit Maseo. Other than Kio, Auslin didn't know about any of the half-wolf shifter's previous partners. "I wish I knew if he was okay right now."

"My magic has only activated once to protect him, likely from Kio." Kitsuki stroked Auslin's hair. "My ring will keep him safe."

Then why do I have such a bad feeling about something happening to Maseo? Auslin silently wondered. But he didn't want to ruin the beauty of their mating with such a grim thought. "Has Kizoshi said anything about him?"

"He will go through some trials to test him, but his reward is to find the ultimate happiness and love."

It simultaneously comforted and worried Auslin. He focused on the good. "He deserves it after the hell he's been through." Auslin kissed Kitsuki's chest over his heart. "Thank you for protecting him."

"I will protect you both." Kitsuki kissed Auslin's forehead. "I refuse to allow Nasume to do as he wishes."

"Then everything will be okay." Auslin still had fears, but they disappeared as his new bond with Kitsuki filled him with endless love and adoration. "This was so worth the wait."

"Forming a bond or making love?" Kitsuki teased.

Auslin laughed, his heart light and full of appreciation for his new bondmate. "Both."

"I could not agree more." Kitsuki guided Auslin to give him a sweet kiss on the lips. It melted Auslin as he surrendered to Kitsuki. "Waiting for you to be my first was well worth it."

Auslin wasn't sure how he had gotten so lucky, but he'd never stop being grateful to Sophina for bringing Kitsuki into his life. He offered a silent prayer to her to take care of Maseo by giving him a good fate with someone who loved him the way he deserved. Then things really would be perfect, and Auslin could quit worrying about the half-wolf shifter being out on his own, alone in a world that had shown him so much pain.
