CHAPTER ELEVEN

"Uh, boys, you've come back a little heavy," said Luke, staring at the pretty, petite woman and the child.

"Luke, this is Hae-Won Park and her daughter, the adorable Jennifer. She needs protection from her father and her daughter's father." Luke stared at the two men, then at the little girl who was wiggling her chubby fingers toward him. Shit.

"Hello there, beautiful," he smiled, taking the little girl. "If you've trained her to suck us all in, you've done a good job." The woman gave a half-smile.

"No. She is that charming all on her own. As the man said, I am Hae-Won Park, but I want nothing to do with my father or Gordon William. He said you could help me change my name and disappear." She looked at the twins, trying to decide which one had told her, then realized it didn't matter.

"We can help you do that. We'd sure like any help you can give us about your father and William."

"I haven't seen my father in almost ten years. He rarely contacted me. What I know, I told them. He wants war with the United States. That's his greatest desire. He has killed superiors, subordinates, family, friends, anyone who might get in his way. Ultimately, I am convinced he will kill his own leader, but not before he is named as successor."

"Isn't leadership familial? I mean, wouldn't he have to be related to the current president?" asked Cam.

"Yes, but the current president has no children. At least, no male children. Females are not seen as being of any value in high-level positions."

"We found Hae-Won taking her final exam for her PhD in music. She plays the cello, and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard," said Christopher.

"Really," smiled Hex. "Have you ever heard of Mia Rogers?"

"Of course. She's one of the most gifted violinists of our time," said the woman, finally excited about something.

"She lives here with her husband. She's now Mia Rogers Cooper," said Hex. The girl smiled, her fingers itching to grab her instrument and play.

"Have you thought of a name?" asked Eric. He grabbed the little girl, giving her raspberry kisses on her neck as she giggled. "Oh, I love that sound."

It was amazing to see these big men turn to mush when a little girl was just babbling and laughing in their arms.

"So does she," smiled the woman. "A name? For me?"

"Yep. We can get that done fast, and no one will find you," said Eric.

"I never thought it would actually happen."

"Why don't you think on it for a day or so," said Luke. "We'll give you a place to stay and have someone show you around. Until then, you'll be safe here. We have a few rules."

"Yes," she nodded. "The twins told me. They said not to contact anyone, take a call from anyone, not to ever reveal where I am, or who you are. That should be easy."

"Easy?" frowned Cam.

"Yes. I don't know the answers to any of those questions." Three beautiful women walked toward her, smiling.

"Hae-Won, this is my wife, Ajei. She's a nurse, so she'll be able to attend to the baby if you need anything at all. We have an excellent medical staff. That's Kate, Cam's wife, and this other beautiful woman is my sister, Violet."

"It's very nice to meet you all," she said respectfully.

"Hae-Won…"

"Erica!" she shouted.

"What?" frowned Luke.

"Please, I don't want to hear my given name ever again. I want to be Erica. Erica Smith." Luke smiled at the young woman, nodding.

"That might be a bit too generic, but Erica we can definitely do. We'll give you some options for a last name and get sweet little Jennifer's name changed as well." The woman let out a long, shuddering breath, bending at the waist to take in air.

"Honey, are you okay?" asked Ajei.

"Yes," she nodded. "Yes. You have no idea how this has weighed on my mind. I thought I would never escape. Never."

"Come with us," smiled Violet. "We've got a small cottage for you and that beautiful little girl of yours."

Ajei took the little girl from Eric's hands, although he didn't seem too willing to let her go. The new Erica picked up the cello in one hand and the small bag in the other. Violet and Kate took the other bags. Before she left, she turned to Christopher and Patrick.

"I had nowhere to turn. Nowhere to go. I didn't know what was going to happen to me, and then you walked into my final recital exam. I didn't used to believe in miracles. I do now."

The men watched as she walked away with the others, then looked at one another.

"That was risky, brothers. Bringing her back here. She could be a plant," said Eric.

"Nope. We had Hiro and Pigsty check out everything. She didn't lie about one damn thing. Not one. Her mother was found murdered in Pyongyang about a month after she was taken from the U.S. The government blamed it on a Taiwanese visitor. He's still in prison today, claiming his innocence."

"Well, I'm not sure how much she can help us, but we can damn sure help her," said Cam. "That little girl is gonna have everyone wrapped around her fingers."
