Chapter thirty-eight

N ot long after that conversation, Fenella, with Gunnar's help, closes the place up. I stay to help clean up as much as I can, hoping I can have some time with Fenella when the others leave.

But she leaves with her friends, taking the bottle of peach schnapps that Tyler missed, and climbing into one of the SUVs to take them back to the castle.

She kisses me good night, tells me again that she'll see me on Tuesday, and gives me a big smile as they drive away.

The next day, I find out she's gone.
