Chapter 20

" Mom, do you have Candace?"

"Your father does." Mom came in, her apron covered in flour. "The pies are out of the oven."

"Excellent. So, the rolls next?" Mom was going to show him her Thanksgiving special rolls. Paddy and Rain were bringing the turkey and dressing, Justin was bringing drinks and ice. They were doing the rest.

"The table is all set up in the formal dining, mate, and the guest rooms are all made up for tonight so we can relax and no one has to drive." Tyler came up and kissed him, then kissed Mom's cheek. "Is the baby with her gramps?"

Mom nodded. "She is. He's telling her the story of her daddy's first Thanksgiving."

"Oh, that's bound to be a good one." He had no idea. As far as Reed knew, there hadn't been any disasters.

"You ate your weight in mashed potatoes and cried when he wouldn't let you hug the turkey."

Reed chuckled. "Well of course I did."

"Hey. I tossed the turkey off on the floor. I went all bear and rampaged through the kitchen. The dog ate it before anyone could get it." Tyler winked.

They all had a laugh, and his father came in with their gorgeous, dark-haired girl. "I heard a vehicle coming up the drive. It's time for our celebration to begin, I think."

"It is." Though he and Tyler had been celebrating every day.

Justin, Rain, and Paddy came in then, all of them chattering and laughing, and the difference in where he'd been a year ago and where he was now…

Reed looked at his Tyler, his heart full.

Thank you for bringing me home.

Thank you for coming.

They looked at each other and smiled, and then went to have their first Thanksgiving together as a family.
