Chapter 6

Six

Mia

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of what I was about to admit. There was no point in holding back now, not after what I'd done. "So, about your truck," I began, my voice coming out a little softer than I intended. I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks already. "I, uh... I went snooping earlier."

Liam raised an eyebrow from his position on the couch, his ankle still propped up, making him unable to move. He didn't seem angry, just curious. "Snooping? What'd you find?"

I shifted, feeling a mix of nerves and embarrassment. "I… I wanted to know more about you. So, I looked inside your truck, thinking maybe I'd find something. You know, just to figure out what kind of guy you are."

His lips quirked into an amused smile, but he stayed quiet, letting me continue.

"And, well," I hesitated, really regretting this now. "I found a box of condoms in the glove compartment." I bit my lip, trying to read his reaction, but his expression stayed calm, his eyes watching me closely. "It just made me wonder if you were seeing anyone. I mean... they were unopened, but still..."

Liam let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "So, you went snooping in my truck and found some condoms, huh?"

I felt my face heat even more. "I know it sounds bad. I wasn't trying to invade your privacy, but... I guess I was curious."

He adjusted himself on the couch, wincing slightly as he tried to find a comfortable position. "And you wanted to know if I'm seeing someone?" His voice was soft, not teasing, but there was a glint of amusement in his eyes.

"Yeah," I admitted, feeling like I had to be honest now. "I mean, it's none of my business, really. But I couldn't help but wonder."

Liam's smile softened, and he gave a slight shrug. "Well, you don't have to wonder. I'm not seeing anyone. Haven't been for a while, actually."

The tension that had built in my chest eased a little, but I still felt like I needed to explain myself further. "I don't know why I thought looking in your truck would tell me anything about you," I said, laughing nervously. "It's just... you're kind of a mystery, Liam. And I guess I was hoping to learn more."

His eyes softened, and for the first time since I'd met him, I saw a different side of him—one that wasn't guarded or playful but genuine. "I get it," he said. "I probably would've done the same thing if I were you."

That caught me off guard. "You would?"

He chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "Sure. If I were curious about someone, I'd poke around too. But now that we're both being honest... I should ask—what about you? Are you seeing anyone?"

I shook my head, feeling a little more comfortable now that the air was cleared. "No. Not for a long time."

"How long?"

I hesitated, then sighed. "Three years. My ex moved away, and I just... haven't wanted to get close to anyone since."

Liam nodded, as if that made perfect sense to him. "Same here, but for me, it's been work. I've had casual stuff here and there, but nothing serious. Haven't really had time for it."

We both sat in silence for a moment, the fire crackling softly in the background. I glanced over at him, feeling the heat from the flames mixed with the heat of our conversation.

"Guess we've both been in a bit of a dry spell," I said with a small smile.

Liam smirked, his blue eyes locking onto mine. "Yeah, you could say that."

The tension between us shifted, becoming something else—something I hadn't felt in a long time. I wasn't sure if it was the wine, the firelight, or just the fact that we were two people who'd been alone for too long, but I felt myself leaning closer to him.

"I guess we could... fix that," I suggested my voice barely above a whisper, unsure of what I was even saying.

Liam's smirk deepened, and despite his injury, he leaned forward slightly, closing the gap between us. "Yeah, maybe we could."

I wasn't sure what came over me, but before I knew it, our lips met, softly at first, like we were testing the waters. But when he kissed me back, something inside me lit up. It wasn't just the physical connection—it was the understanding, the shared loneliness, and the unspoken agreement that maybe we both needed this.

When we finally pulled apart, my breath was shaky, and I could see the same hunger reflected in Liam's eyes. "You sure about this?" he asked, his voice rough and low.

I nodded, feeling the heat rise between us again. "Yeah."

Liam's smile was slow but full of promise. "Then maybe you should go grab those condoms you found in my truck."

I laughed nervously, my heart pounding in my chest. "Right. I'll, uh... I'll go get them."

Liam's smirk widened, but he didn't say anything, just leaned back against the couch and watched as I stood up to leave. My hands shook slightly as I fumbled for the doorknob. I wasn't used to this—feeling so exposed, so vulnerable—but at the same time, there was something thrilling about it.

I opened the door of Liam's truck, the dome light flickering on. My hand hovered over the box for a second before I finally grabbed it, clutching it tightly as I closed the door and hurried back toward the cabin.

When I stepped back inside, Liam was sitting on the floor, his back resting against the couch, his shirt tossed aside, leaving his chest bare. The glow of the flames danced over his skin, highlighting the definition in his muscles. My breath caught in my throat.

His eyes found mine, and he smiled, holding out his hands. "Come here."

I hesitated for only a second before crossing the room and kneeling down in front of him. His hands gently slid up my arms, pulling me closer until I was sitting in his lap, my knees on either side of his legs. The heat of his body pressed against mine, and I could feel the tension rolling off him.

"You sure about this?" he asked again, his voice low, eyes locked on mine.

I nodded, feeling the nervous energy inside me twist into something warmer, something deeper. "Yeah. I'm sure."

A mischievous yet irresistible grin slowly spread across his face, causing a flutter of butterflies to bubble up in my stomach. His strong and eager hands entwined themselves in my hair, pulling me closer to him as he kissed away any lingering hesitation. In the heat of passion, my tank top was carelessly discarded, revealing the smooth skin of my bare chest. Liam's skilled fingers deftly removed my bra straps from my arms, allowing it to fall to the floor.

With my back arched, Liam's lips trailed along the sensitive skin of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. "You taste like sweet honey," he whispered against my skin before capturing my lips again in a passionate kiss. As our bodies pressed together, I could feel his arousal growing between my legs, igniting a fire within me. I couldn't wait to explore every inch of his luscious body with my own.

Liam gestured towards the soft, plush carpet beside us, and my heart raced with anticipation. I rolled off his lap, my skin buzzing with excitement, and added my crumpled jeans and lacy panties to the growing pile of clothing on the floor.

With a teasing smirk, he slowly pulled down his sweatpants, revealing his throbbing erection that strained against the fabric of his briefs. My breath caught in my throat at the sight, and I couldn't help but let out a gasp. The soft glow from the fireplace danced across his sculpted body, highlighting every ripple and curve in exquisite detail. My desire spiked as I felt his hands caress my back, urging me on.

Unable to resist, I peppered kisses along his chest, savoring the taste and feel of his skin before continuing my descent towards his massive cock. With eager hands and hungry lips, I explored every inch of him, sending shivers of pleasure through both of us.

After rolling on a condom, Liam's rough hands gripped my hips, guiding me over him, his cock teasing my entrance. The room filled with the sounds of the fire crackling in the background as we lost ourselves in each other's embrace.

"Shit, Mia..," he groaned in pleasure as I finally took him deep inside me, our bodies intertwined like two puzzle pieces finding their rightful place.

As I began to move, thrusting my hips in a rhythm with Liam's, I arched my back, letting out a soft moan that fueled our desire even more. Every touch, every kiss, every stroke sent shockwaves of pleasure through my entire being. It felt like it had been an eternity since I had experienced this kind of raw passion and intensity.

"Are you doing alright?" I whispered suddenly remembering his predicament.

His eyes locked onto mine, his expression one of raw desire and passion. "No pain whatsoever. You feel fucking amazing," he murmured against my lips before claiming them once again in a fiery kiss.

His words sent shivers down my spine as our bodies moved together in perfect harmony. The friction between our skin ignited sparks of heat that radiated throughout the room. I could feel myself getting closer and closer to the edge, my muscles tensing up, anticipating our next moves.

I picked up speed, gradually swiveling my hips as he increased the depth of his thrusts; it felt like he was piercing right through me, leaving nothing behind but pure, unadulterated bliss!

"Oh god! Liam…" I gasped, my voice trembling as waves of pleasure surged through me, a tantalizing blend of intensity and restraint. Liam's touch was a symphony, his hands exploring my skin with purpose, each caress igniting a new spark of desire.

His thumb traced a path to my most sensitive spot, setting off fireworks of sensation that reverberated through every nerve ending, causing my body to quiver uncontrollably in response. Even in his injured state, it was as though he possessed an innate mastery, orchestrating my pleasure like a virtuoso playing an instrument only he could fathom. And then, in a crescendo of passion, with a primal growl, Liam propelled us both into the abyss of ecstasy.

Liam pulled me close as I collapsed onto his chest, our breaths heavy and mingling in the warm, dimly lit room. His arms wrapped around me, firm yet gentle, like he was holding something precious. I stayed there for a moment, feeling his heartbeat steady beneath me as the last remnants of the fire crackled softly.

After what felt like hours, but was probably only minutes, I found enough energy to peel myself off his chest. "Hold on," I murmured, feeling the cool air brushing against my skin as I reluctantly pulled away and removed the condom.

Liam watched me through heavy-lidded eyes, a lazy, content smile on his face. "Where are you going?"

I managed a small smile, my legs wobbling as I stood up. "Just grabbing some pillows and quilts. Don't want us freezing down here."

With a soft laugh, I grabbed the pillows from my bed and pulled a couple of thick quilts from the closet. The fire had faded into glowing embers by the time I returned, and Liam had shifted onto his side, waiting for me. I spread the quilts over us and slid back beside him, the pillows cradling our heads as we nestled into the blankets.

Liam pulled me closer, his arm draped over my waist as I settled my head against his chest again. The night outside was still, and the only sound was our slow, steady breathing.

"Stay with me in here. I don't have the energy to move," Liam whispered, his voice barely audible, his breath warm against my hair.

I looked up at him, catching the softness in his eyes as he gazed down at me. "I'm not going anywhere," I murmured, letting the weight of the night melt away. The reassuring strength of his embrace and the gentle rhythm of his breathing were enough to make the rest of the world disappear.

As I rested my head on his chest again, his fingers traced lazy circles on my back, and slowly, sleep began to pull us both under. At that moment, everything felt right. No worries about tomorrow, no thoughts of what was to come—just the two of us, wrapped up together.

And for the first time in a long time, I felt completely at peace.
