Chapter Twenty-Eight

Brad

There was a change of plans. Originally, Vada and Winnie were supposed to be the shot girls, but Dylan messaged me earlier to let me know Ella and Mady would be doing it, so Logan and Lochlan could be the beer guys. She didn't want to make Vada more uncomfortable.

Both guys walk in wearing suits with a ridiculous belt that's loaded full of beer bottles.

"We're ready to get this party started!" Logan yells excitedly. He takes a beer from his belt, pops the top, and passes it to me.

"You know you are supposed to wait until we get there, right? The beer is for the guests." I chuckle as I take the drink from him.

"Figured you might need some liquid courage," he says with a wink.

"No liquid courage needed. I just want to get to Happy's already," I reply, but still take a drink from the bottle.

"Well, say no more. Let's get this show on the road," Chad says, coming up beside me and tapping me on the shoulder. "Ready?" he asks.

"Yes, let's go."

We all head out of Arden's house and into the limo that is waiting to take us to Happy's. We could have gone with something fancy, but no one is going to see the cars, so we decided to just use the limos that Arden's dad owns.

Guests are already here when we arrive. I say hello to those standing outside the bar and make my way inside.

Mady and Ella have done an incredible job with the decorating. The bar has been completely transformed into something that looks like it should be in one of those overpriced wedding magazines. There are fairy lights everywhere, and pendant lights are hanging from the ceiling, along with greenery and flowers. Tables are set up throughout the space, adorned with name tags and floral arrangements—and not a bar stool in sight.

When we walk through the doors to the beer garden, I stop in my tracks.

An aisle has been created and chairs placed on either side. An archway at the end of the aisle is decorated the same way as the ceiling. It's simple, yet perfect.

"You look handsome." Mady's mum greets me with a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you," I say as Chad and Ralph make their way to stand beside me.

"The girls will be here shortly," Ralph says as he pockets his phone. I eye him suspiciously.

"Shamus is driving them. He's just picked them up. I didn't trust anyone else to transport your precious cargo," Ralph jokes.

"Thank you. I appreciate everything you have both done for today," I tell my brothers.

"We're happy to do it. Just remember you'll have to return the favour one day," Chad says, and Mady's mum hits him in the shoulder.

"Is there something you need to tell me?" she says, quirking a brow.

"Not yet, but you'll be the first to know," Chad replies as he pulls his future mother-in-law in for a brief hug.

"Good. Because you and I both know that you boys need to put a ring on my girl's finger soon." She chuckles as she takes her place in the middle of the arch.

Roman walks in and gives me a nod.

It's go time.

"Call Me Maybe" starts to play over the speakers, and I cringe.

Fucking Logan.

There is no way anyone else is responsible for this choice of music.

Logan, Lochlan, Mady, and Ella enter the room. The girls have baskets filled with shots and the boys have ice buckets full of beer.

The room erupts in laughter as they start dancing down the aisle, handing out drinks to each guest along the way. This may not be a typical wedding ceremony, but it suits Dylan and me.

Once the song has finished, they all take their seats and the music changes.

"Tainted Love" starts to play, and I chuckle. This one is definitely Dylan's doing.

Winnie enters the room and makes her way down the aisle, taking a beer from Logan before stepping in front of me.

"You better look after our girl," she whispers in my ear, and I nod in response. Only Winnie would make a comment sound like a threat.

She stands off to the side, and the door opens again. Vada comes down the aisle, and I recognise the look of concentration on her face. She has her new headphones on and looks like she is counting.

I offer her a small smile and mouth, "Thank you." I know this isn't easy for her, but she's here for her best friend.

The crowd stands as the door opens for the final time. I turn my attention to the entry, and it feels like the world stops. Dylan has her arm linked through Dom's and she's looking right at me.

She's stunning.

Her dress is all layers and lace, a perfect style that looks like it was made for her. Her hair has a slight curl, and she's wearing a deep-red lipstick that makes my dick twitch.

I love Dylan when she's makeup free, but like this...

This is what fantasies are made of.

She's perfect, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

I wipe away the stray tear that rolls down my cheek just as they reach us.

Dom lets go of her arm and gives me a hug. "Welcome to the family," he says in my ear. I hug him back before he gives Dylan a kiss on the cheek and whispers something in her ear. Her eyes are glassy with unshed tears as I take her hand, and she smiles up at me.

"You look stunning," I whisper.

Her smile widens, and she grips my hand harder.

"Ready?" I ask, and she nods.

We turn to Mady's mum and wait for her to begin.

The ceremony is quick, just what we wanted. There were more dick jokes than we planned, but given Mady's mum was the celebrant, we should have known.

I take Dylan's hand—it's time for us to clear out and move into the bar. Ella has told us to go to the office while they get the guests sorted.

"Come on, wifey," I whisper as I move us through the crowd and into the office.

Wrapping my arms around her, I pull her in for a kiss. She opens her mouth and instantly deepens it, pushing herself into my body and wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Are you okay?" I ask, breaking the kiss but keeping her in my arms.

"Better than ever. I can't believe we're married," she says with a giggle.

"Me neither. Had you told me six weeks ago this is where we would be, I wouldn't have believed you," I say with honesty. The marriage idea started off as a joke.

Kind of.

But when the hospital wouldn't let me in to see Dylan, I knew then that I was going through with it. I want to be a part of her life for as long as she'll have me.

"I'm glad we did it. I can't wait to start living life with you," she says, pecking me on the lips.

My hands roam her body, and she lets out a small moan.

"I can't wait to get you out of this dress." I groan as she palms the front of my pants.

"You think we could blow off the reception and get the honeymoon started early?" Dylan purrs.

Tempting me.

If we didn't have all our friends and family out there waiting to celebrate with us, I'd be whisking her out the door.

But we've gotten this far. We can hold on for a few more hours.

"As tempting as that is, we both know we'd never get away with it," I tell her.

As if they sensed we were considering bailing, Ella knocks on the door and pokes her head in.

"It's time." She gives us both a smile and leaves.

Taking Dylan's hand again, I can't contain my grin as we walk out the door and stand at the entrance of the bar, waiting for the introduction.

Ella was very clear and thorough with her instructions for the day.

Logan's voice comes across the speakers and the other side of the door hushes.

"Please welcome . . . Mr and Mrs Walker."
