32. Tyson

Tyson

A pack of cigarettes sits on the bar counter. I grab the last cigarette and light it up. In the past week, I’ve barely smoked since we almost finished what Maddox brought us last time.

I take a long drag as I send Maddox a message and ask him where the fuck he is and why he hasn’t dropped by the farm in the past few days and why he wasn’t at the meeting, while I wait for Rueben to finish with his meltdown.

Rueben calls the bartender while waving a fifty-dollar bill. “Another round for my brother and me.”

Rueben only calls me his brother when he is drunk. Truth be told, I never wanted siblings. I was fine on my own doing my own shit. But having a brother is not that bad. Rueben has been there for me when I needed him the most. “I think you’ve had enough for tonight. We should go home. Olivia must be dead worried. She is probably waiting for us on the porch.”

If Rueben believes the load of crap I’m throwing at him, it would be a miracle.

The bartender gives us the two glasses Rueben asked for. Rueben grabs his whiskey and snorts before throwing his head back and gulping down everything. When the glass is empty, he forcefully puts it on the bar counter. “She doesn’t give a shit about you and me. She has no problem sucking and riding the others, but when it comes to us, she either ignores us or humiliates us in front of the entire Blood Lodge. I shouldn’t have gotten on my knees and…” He shudders. It’s not like someone held a gun to his temple and forced him to lick the cum from the floor. “How the fuck am I supposed to face everyone now?”

“Who cares about what the others say?”

“For fuck’s sake, I have a reputation to protect. As a Lord, I shouldn’t have let her walk all over me like that. I should have done to Olivia what Reyes and his blood-brothers did to their woman.”

Rumors of how Alekos, Reyes, and Stefan treated their wife are still a hot topic at the Blood Lodge. From the little I know about their wife, she never went through what Olivia did. I would love nothing more than to bend her over my desk, spank her ass bright red for how dirty she played Rueben and me, then fuck her with all I have, and when I’m done with her, let Rueben do the same. A good fuck will calm him down. But, if we treat our bonded like crap, that will be the end of her. She needs love, not more abuse.

Rueben asks for another drink for himself.

I’ve never seen him so upset because of a woman. Well, Olivia is not any woman, but our hellstar. “She is hurting. You should give her some grace.”

Rueben grabs his new drink. “I am hurting too, but did someone give me grace? Fuck no, because I’m Rueben, and I’m supposed to have my shit together. I fucking tried to be good to her, but I’m not built for that. The things I want to do to her…”

I pick up my glass and swirl it. “Like what?” If he says some crazy shit like hurting Olivia, he’s a dead man.

“Fuck that mouth of hers in the middle of the Blood Lodge and fill it with cum, then do the same with her other holes. You know, show her where her place is.”

He can try that, but he might end up humiliated once more. Olivia finally knows her worth, and she is not afraid to show it.

While he drains his glass, I say, “When you get sick, you’ll be on your own.”

Rueben laughs bitterly. “I don’t need you or anyone else to babysit my ass.”

“Talking about asses, we should drag ours home.” I get up from the bar stool.

Rueben is still being stubborn. “Do whatever you want. I’m staying.”

“Don’t make me force you,” I sneer. He shrugs. I’m so fucking tired; I want to get in my bed and sleep. Force may not be the answer, but I might convince him in another way. “How about I tell you something about Olivia that you didn’t know on the way home.”

This catches Rueben’s attention. “Let’s find a taxi.”

We leave the bar and step into the cold January air. I pull the collar of my coat tight around my neck. Olivia loves winter. I never understood how someone could like the cold. Rueben shoves his hands in his pockets. He hates the cold as much as I do.

“You shouldn’t have left without your coat,” I put salt on the wound.

“Siberia is colder. Remember the mission there?”

“How could I forget? The coldest place I have ever been.”

We keep walking down the street, reminiscing about the past. After we dropped out of college and became blood-brothers, Rueben, Mose, Ansel, and I went on many missions. The Dukes in Europe were trying to control the continent, and we were sent to stop them. Finding the Patriarchs wasn’t easy, especially when they went into hiding in Siberia.

This makes me think of something. “Do you think Carlos is somewhere in Siberia?”

Rueben’s fast reply leads me to believe he has thought about Carlos’ hiding spot a lot. “Nah. He’s too much of a narcissist to leave others in charge of the Celestial Heaven.”

“There are many others across the globe,” I point out the obvious.

Rueben nods. “But he doesn’t have control over them.”

I snort. “Like that will stop him. When he first became a Duke, he was a nobody; look at him now.”

Suddenly, a car stops next to us, startling us. My hand goes to my holster.

The back door opens. “Get in! Or else, the rat will escape.”

I frown. “Rin?”

Rueben and I look inside the car. Rin is the one driving. Next to him is his cousin, while Maddox and Cirro are in the back seat. Maddox looks a bit sick.

“What rat?” Rueben asks.

“The one you asked Cirro to find,” Rin replies.

It takes a moment to click in my head what Rin is talking about. With everything going on with Olivia, I forgot about the ‘rat.’ At least I sent Cirro a text before it completely slipped my mind.

Rueben and I get in the car. Rin starts to drive away as I close the door behind us.

Cirro looks out the window. “Alekos let us use his cabin.”
