Chapter 9
Zack
“ B aby, breathe.” I rub Kimmy’s arm as we step off the elevator and kiss her temple.
My wife is a ball of nerves and I don’t blame her. Some might think I’m crazy for not only allowing my wife to bring a woman into our marriage, but the idea being mine.
What people don’t get is that my wife's happiness is the most important thing to me. And if she feels like she’s missing out or that she didn’t get the chance to experience things in life, I’m not going to be the reason she holds back.
I’m confident enough in our love that she’s not going to fall for some woman and run away with them. I’m also a firm believer that it is possible to love more than one person in your lifetime, and sometimes it doesn’t have to be at different times in your life, it could be all at once.
My eyes scan the crowd. This place is alive with music and chatter of the other buyers. For a second I worry someone might recognize me, then I remember that even if they do, they’ve signed NDA’s as did we.
“Oh, shit,” I whisper, eyes widening.
“What?”
“Is that... is that Mr. Robinson?” I whisper in her ear, surprise hitting me as I look at an older gentleman by the bar. He takes the drink from the bartender and walks away.
“Holy shit.” She snorts out a laugh. “I think it is.” We both stare at our old high school principal. Not at all who I thought I’d be running into here.
“This is awesome.” I chuckle.
“Stop it.” Kimmy slaps me on the arm.
“Make me.” I grin down at her, pulling her into my arms. She melts at my touch as I kiss her softly. “How are you doing, Firecracker?”
“I think I need a drink.” She blinks up at me, her pretty brown eyes filled with wonderment and nerves.
“Let’s go get you one. But remember, if you're not feeling this, if no one is catching your attention, we can go home empty handed.”
“Okay.” She nods. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” I kiss her again before guiding her to the bar. I keep a possessive arm around her waist, not letting her leave my side.
Once we get our drinks, a woman in purple booty shorts and bra approaches us. “Hi. Are you ready?”
I look down to see Kimmy biting her lip, her eyes on her glass before they dart up to me. “Now or never.” Then she downs her drink like a pro, making me chuckle.
Leaning down, I run my lips along the shell of her ear. “Never change, Fire Cracker.” I nip at her ear, making her shiver. I smirk and will my cock to behave.
We follow the pretty lady to our seats. “Here you are.” We stop next to one of the high back private booths facing the stage. Once we’re seated, she hands us a tablet. “All the information for each woman will appear on your tablet as they step onto the stage. Once you place a bid, it will light up green if you're the highest bidder, red if someone else has topped your bid.”
“Thank you.” I give her a friendly smile.
“Thanks,” Kimmy echoes. The woman nods with a smile before leaving. “I should have gotten another drink.” She sighs, staring at the empty stage, her right knee bouncing.
“And be drunk during your night of passion with a drop dead sexy woman?” I tease.
She shoots me a glare. “Can it, Ward.”
“Relax now. You're going to get me hard before the nights really begun.” I chuckle.
She glares harder. “You're not touching anyone, so why would you be hard?”
With a playful grin, I lean in. “Just because I’m not allowed to touch, doesn’t mean I don’t get to watch. I’m human, baby, and watching you please another woman just might be one of my own little fantasies.” I tell her, voice low and husky as I grab her hand, placing it on my hardening cock. She gives it a squeeze just to be a brat, but I groan. “To watch you bury your face between her thighs. To lick and suck, to make them scream your name as you blow hermind.”
“Zack,” she says in a warning tone but I hear the need in the way she says my name.
I’m about to keep going when a man appears on stage, gaining our attention.
“Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to Club Lust. We are pleased to have sixteen lots of merchandise up for sale tonight. Please remember once the lights are fully off that no one is to move from their seats. This auction will be silent. As I announce the merchandise, a headshot will appear on your tablets. I will provide information on each lot. If you are interested, the starting bid is five hundred thousand and will go up in increments of fifty thousand until it reaches one million. At that time, each bid will raise by five hundred thousand. You can click the bid button as many times as you desire. Each auction will only be open for five minutes. At the end of that time, the tablets will announce the winning bid number only. A reminder, we do not use names. If you are outbid it will flash across your screen to bid again and if you win, the tablet will flash that you are the winner. Another reminder, if you bid for two people and win both, then your tablet is automatically locked, preventing you from any additional bidding for the night. Our first lot for the night is Virtue.”
One by one, stunning women step up on stage. I sit back and let Kimmy be the one in control. I told her that we don’t go over a million unless it’s someone she really wants. I have no say or sway. I want this to be all about her and what she wants, who she wants.
She watches them as they do their thing up there and read the information on the tablet.
I watch her, seeing how she reacts, if anyone peaks her interest.
By the fourth woman, Kimmy hasn’t bid anything on anyone yet. “This is pointless,” she sighs. “They are all gorgeous, don’t get me wrong. But so far, no one is standing out to me, making me want to fight for a night with them.”
“It’s okay,” I tell her, leaning over to kiss her cheek. “Don’t feel like you have to pick someone. We can come back another time, or try to find someone another way.”
“Maybe... maybe this wasn’t a good idea.” She gives me a worried look, chewing on her lower lip. “Maybe I’ve jumped into things, you know? Some things should just be left to fantasies. Just because you can make them come true doesn’t mean you should.”
“Kimmy.” I sigh. “Are you feeling guilty again?”
“Yes, Zack, I am.” She sighs. “Here I am, telling you you're not allowed to touch another woman, or I’d chop your damn hands off, yet I’m going to spend maybe up to a million dollars to have someone for the weekend?”
“Kimmy.” I take her face in my hands and lower my lips to hers, just enough to brush them softly. “You are my wife, my love, my best friend. I trust you, I believe in us. But, I know you. You’ve been thinking about this, about being with another woman. And I’m okay with that because I know at the end of the night, you're mine. And while I might be willing to share you, I’d never be willing to let you go.”
“Zack,” she whispers against my lips.
“Next up, we have DeeDee.”
That catches my attention. An image pops up on the tablet and we both look down. All the air in my lungs gets sucked out as my body freezes in pure disbelief. Kimmy gasps. “No. There’s no way.”
My eyes frantically take in the image. Blue eyes that used to capture my full attention and hold it in their grasp. Blonde hair that had my hand itching to reach out and touch. She’s older, no longer the beautiful girl with the shy smile but a gorgeous woman.
“Cora?” I say her name like I’m seeing a ghost. And I am, a ghost of my past. Someone I thought I’d never see again.
My eyes shoot up to see her standing on the stage. Someone is speaking, telling the crowd some information about her, but I don’t hear anything.
“Zack!” Kimmy slaps my arm, breaking me out of my shock. “People are bidding.” Her voice sounds panicked. “What do we do?”
“Bid.” I tell her, voice more demanding than I was going for.
She quickly presses the tablet, putting in our official bid. As the numbers climb, my heart races faster.
I have no idea what is going on right now and why Cora is here of all places. I just know that there’s no way in hell one of these motherfuckers is going home with my Daredevil. Not tonight, not fucking ever.
“Fuck!” Kimmy hisses. “Zack. We’re going to lose her. Time is almost up.”
“Keep bidding,” I tell her, watching the numbers rise. “Fucking hell, it’s at a million.”
“I know you said that's our cut off, but fuck it.” She tells me, bidding again.
I don’t even care as it goes past one point five million. Inside, I know that I’d pay every last fucking penny I have to make Cora ours tonight.
I’m not sure why she’s here, but I’m going to see it as a sign of fate.
“Thirty seconds left.” Kimmy says in a desperate whisper. We place a bid of a million and wait. I feel like I’m going to puke as I look up to find her watching the crowd. She can’t see us, the room is black on this side.
It’s the vulnerability in her eyes that has me wanting to jump up and rush over to her. For someone who’s here to auction their body off for the night, she looks like someone who wants anything but that.
Whatever has her here, it looks like she didn’t have much say. Maybe it’s nerves, but I know Cora, better than she ever thought I did.
“We won,” Kimmy says, her eyes shooting up to meet mine. “We won Cora.”
We both look back at Cora as she walks off the stage. A speck of panic fills me I’m not used to, like she’s going to disappear again.
“What the fuck just happened,” I say, another wave of disbelief hitting me.
“It’s Cora, right? It has to be. Zack, those eyes. I would know those eyes anywhere.”
“It’s Cora,” I say, every fiber of my being knowing that's the truth. “And if not, we just spent a million to spend a weekend with her doppelg?nger.”
Guess we’re about to find out if that really is the woman who’s been haunting not only my dreams, but my wife's.
