Chapter Seven

Devon

When I get back to my dressing room, my adrenaline is through the roof.

Three and a half million dollars!

When I heard the numbers going up, I almost passed out on stage. I can’t believe I sold for so much! Granted, I only get 500k, but still! It’s not about taking all the money home, it’s about the worth.

I’m worth three and a half million dollars!

Is that something I can put on my resume? Maybe if I want to be a stripper, it is. Hell, I’ll consider it after this. If people are willing to pay that tonight, I bet I’d make thousands taking my clothes off and dancing on a pole. I’m not opposed to the idea. I’d have to take some classes first because I am not the best dancer. But I’ll learn anything if it’ll earn me a living.

Though I couldn’t see the buyers in the audience, I felt them staring at me. It was a great feeling. Something I could definitely get used to .

The girl who brought me back to the dressing room told me to relax until the show is done, but how can I relax after that? I’m pumped! I want to jump around, dance, scream! Oh my god, I can’t wait to tell Summer! She’s going to be so jealous. She—that thought quickly goes out the window when I remember I can’t tell her. I signed an NDA and can’t tell anyone about this. Damn. I already told her that too, so she knows I can’t tell her, but I have to be able to tell her something! How will I keep this information in forever? I’ll explode!

I’m eager to meet the guy who bought me and get this weekend started. Hopefully he has fun things planned. More than just sex. I’m excited about that too, but will we really spend the entire weekend doing that? A weekend doesn’t seem like a long time, but if you think of having sex the whole time… it does seem longer.

The stigma of being a twenty-three-year-old virgin isn’t great, and I’m happy to be rid of it with no pressure. I don’t want to deal with being let down by a guy I like, only to have them dating me just because of my virginity. But the best part of all is I get 500k! If I could go back, I’d do the same thing all over again.

When the scout reached out to me, I thought it was a joke. I even looked around for cameras, but he assured me he wasn’t kidding. Then I was offended because I wasn’t sure what he was asking me to do—or what it said about me. Did he think I was some kind of prostitute? Do I look like one? Once I got more information from him, I was all about it. I’m so glad I went through with it.

This entire night has been an absolute life changer in more ways than one. And it’s just the beginning!

I’m ready for this weekend to be over so I can get my plans for the future started. Figure out where I want to go and where I’ll settle down. I’ve been in Michigan my whole life, and I’m ready to live somewhere else. Putting distance between me and my family is going to be so good for my mental health. Sure, I’ll have plenty of obstacles, but at least I’ll be able to handle them on my own time and in my own way. Being an independent girl with an overbearing family is stressful.

Oh, maybe I’ll go to another country! I could move to France or Italy. Maybe Australia, since they have the sexiest accents. Not really into the big spiders though. And I don’t know how I’d feel if a kangaroo tried to fight me. Maybe Australia isn’t the way to go. But there are so many options. Maybe I won’t settle down anywhere just yet. I could figure out where I want to buy a house but travel first. 500k isn’t a lot, but it’s enough to have some fun with.

I stop in front of the mirror and comb my fingers through my hair. The guy who bought me saw me up on stage, but I want to make sure I look amazing for when he sees me up close.

There weren’t many people left to go after me—only two. Meaning I shouldn’t be waiting for long, but it feels like it’s taking forever. What is taking so long?

Eying my purse, I wonder if I could sneak a text to Summer to let her know the exciting news. I’m not sure I could sum everything up in just one text, and she’d surely try calling me after. If I don’t answer, she may freak out, so it’s a good idea I don’t tell her right now. Besides, I have to have a clear mind when I talk to her so I don’t give her information she can’t have. Knowing her, she’ll ask a thousand questions. I don’t want to slip up and be sued or something. I can’t risk losing the money I just made.

What is taking so long?

Maybe I can find something to do on my phone to help pass the time and calm myself down. I don’t want to come across as crazy when my buyer meets me for the first time. I need to make a good impression.

Just as I grab my purse, there’s a knock at the door. I startle and drop my bag. It lands on the floor with a thud.

“Kensi, your buyer is here to take you for the weekend,” a female’s voice comes from the other side.

I pick my purse up from the floor and toss it to the couch before going to the mirror and checking my hair and makeup again. Everything is in place, so I take a deep breath, let it out, then go to the door. But before I reach it, it swings open.

I stumble on my feet, nearly tripping when I see who is standing on the other side.
