Boomer Epilogue- One Year Later

This past year has been crazy and wonderful, with a spattering of intense and sometimes scary and dangerous. So, in other words, it was the norm for the Infidels. On the wonderful side, personally for Bella and me, we had several. We moved the horses to their new home, moved into our new house, and became engaged.

For the club as a whole, we welcomed several more kids, which was no surprise there. Last June, Phantom and Tamysin's son, Deacon, was born at the end of the month. Torpedo and Londyn's son was born in December, only a few days before Saint and Piper's baby girl. After announcing last year that they were pregnant with their second baby, Wrecker and Adara welcomed a son at the end of January. My brothers and their old ladies were over the moon. We all were, but I was even more so because Bella was finally four months pregnant with our first baby. We'd be finding out soon what we were having. I didn't care what we had, to be honest. He or she was due on Christmas Day. One helluva Christmas present in my book.

Mom and Michael were overjoyed, to say the least. In preparation for us having kids, Mom moved from Florida to Tenillo a few months after coming for her visit. Not long after she moved, Michael announced he had sold his ranch and was doing the same. We wanted to believe it was all due to their love for us and their future grandkids, but we discovered we were wrong. Four months ago, they began to date each other. Talk about a surprise and change.

I gave him the speech about not hurting her like the one he gave me. He swore he wouldn't. Bella was much nicer than I was, and she just hugged Mom and told her she hoped they'd make each other happy. We both agreed they deserved it. After losing two wives and his sons, Michael needed someone to offer him companionship and comfort in his old age. She deserved happiness after all the years she'd spent alone and unhappy due to my dad. Michael was sixty-five, and Mom was fifty-five. The club welcomed them as extended family. They had a house not far from the compound. Michael was spoiling Mom. She tried to get him to stop, but he wouldn't. I loved to see her loved and spoiled.

We had some scary times, too, but along with those came more old ladies for the remaining four patched brothers. I was glad to see they got over their infatuation with Bella and were so goddamn happy with their women. Like the rest of the old ladies, their women had darkness touch them, but we took care of it as a family.

This left the three prospects. Tanner was still serving and single. Colton and Cullen were doing well as prospects, but we were making them do more than a year. It had worked out well with the other three, plus they both had to take a leave due to separate family issues for a few months. The club liked them enough to grant it without kicking them out, even though we hated doing the dirty jobs while they were gone. They were both back and hard at work again.

Even with all the dark stuff, I wouldn't change a thing, especially what was happening today. Finally, I was about to make Bella my wife. If it had been up to me, I would've married her the day we got engaged, but she wanted a fairytale wedding, and Michael insisted she have whatever she wanted. She hadn't gone crazy with the expenses or her wants, but he did. He kept popping up and suggesting more and more. She tried to rein him in, but he insisted she was his only daughter and he was doing it right. She didn't argue.

I knew deep down she still felt guilty about Mason and Monroe. As for Michael, he was amazing. After discovering what we did when it came to the subsequent old ladies and their problems, he guessed we'd had something to do with Mason's demise. We didn't confirm it, but he knew. I was worried it would affect his relationship with her and me, but it didn't. He knew his sons were beyond saving, and he was thankful they weren't able to hurt her or anyone else.

I stood in my suit at the front of the church, waiting for the music to begin and my bride to walk down the aisle. Standing up with me were Torpedo and, of all people, Vicious. He and I had gotten really close over the past year after mending our relationship over Bella. She had Londyn and Diane standing up with her.

I scanned those in the pews. I saw Rampage casting hurt looks my way. He still kept bemoaning the fact that I didn't let Daredevil have Bella so he would be saved from having him as Morgan's future husband. It was hilarious, and the whole club loved to tease him about it. He kept telling me he'd find a way to make me pay for it.

I spotted Mom in the front row with tears already in her eyes. I winked at her. Sitting next to her, of all people, was my dad. He'd made his first trip a few days ago to Tenillo. He wanted to meet Bella and to attend our wedding. I had no objections, nor did my club, as long as he left his colors and club in Florida. As long as they continued to live the life they did, they wouldn't be welcome. He had been thoroughly vetted and warned before he came. Along with various guests, our new friends, the Devil's Regulators, were here. We'd grown closer to them over the past year as well.

Sin was standing in front of me. Since I usually officiated at weddings but couldn't do my own, he'd been wonderful and offered to do ours. I loved having any of my brothers do it, but it was especially great to have my president marry us. I tensed as the music started. I watched Londyn and Diane come walking down the aisle, smiling. As they took their places, my breath caught, and I couldn't breathe as I saw Michael with Bella on his arm.

It was my first time seeing her in her wedding dress. She was dazzling, and I had to hold myself back so I wouldn't run down the aisle and sweep her up in my arms. As she drew nearer, I couldn't believe she was mine. Finally, my life was complete, and it was all due to one little woman who wrapped herself around my heart even as she embroiled me in disagreements with my brothers and her dangerous past. I'd never regret changing my stubborn mind about wanting an old lady. Who knew being brainwashed could be so wonderful?
