Chapter 7

Seven

A small part of me wonders, as I watch them move around their home with a frenzied energy indicative of the moon's power, how pissed they'd be if I snapped them to one of their other forms.

"I won't tell them what you're thinking." Joshua says, moving to my side.

"That's probably for the best." I study his face, just to be sure he doesn't actually know, it's just an educated guess. "We can always have that sort of fun another day.

"Can I take your cloak?"

"I should probably keep it on." I didn't bring my spare clothes, and I don't think they want me ducking back out for them.

Chase looks up, a spark of fear in his eyes. "You're going to stay, right?"

Thomas and Johnny snap to attention, their heads jerking toward me from where they'd been arguing over the set up of a game board. I don't say anything as I meet each of their eyes, and then, move to Joshua.

I raise a brow, waiting for him to ask or confirm.

"I think we'd all be happier if you're close."

"I can stick around for a while."

Thomas chuckles, "You can sleep in my bed, if you want."

"Or mine." Chase is quick to repeat the sentiment, but Johnny is only a heartbeat behind him.

"Thank you."

Joshua chuckles behind me. "But how will you choose?"

Picking up the purple token I twist it in my fingers and then look up at them. "I guess we'll just have to start taking bets."

"What are we betting?" Thomas looks at me. "We'll have to put on clothes if you want to do strip poker."

"Hmm… how about, winner gets to make me come again?"

"What if you win?"

I toss him the game piece. "Then I get to make myself come and none of you can touch."

Blankness takes over their faces for a moment, until they go into a frenzy to set the game up.

"I don't think there has ever been a game as competitive as the one we're going to see tonight."

"Good." I let him take my cloak, once again, completely naked with these four werewolves I've started to think of as my own.

It's startling how easily I could get used to this.

"Who are you rooting for?" He asks as he hangs it up.

"I'm hoping that they cheat and find ways to all play with me again." I look at him over my shoulder. "But then again, I don't plan on going anywhere… so tonight isn't going to be their last chance."
