Chapter 8
Luna
I'm still in disbelief at the way Mateo just spoke to me. I also can't believe that I just drove away from him like that. When I get back home, I quickly pack my backpack, grabbing four outfits and an extra pair of shoes. I'm not sure how they were able to find me like that, so I'm leaving my phone here and calling an Uber to pick me up and drop me off somewhere so I can buy a burner phone to check on Aurora.
When I get the notification that my Uber driver is close, I grab my bag and purse, double checking for my wallet. I'm almost to the end of the driveway when the car pulls up and rolls the passenger window down. "Uber for Luna?" The lady behind the wheel calls out.
"Yep, that's me." Smiling at her, I climb in the back seat and buckle up.
The twenty minute ride goes by peacefully. We pull up to Walmart and I hand the driver a twenty, thanking her for the ride. I'm looking at phones when an employee approaches me to ask if I need any help.
"I just need a phone."
"If you're looking at one of these prepaid phones, you'll need to purchase a phone card as well." He points to a little card above the phones. "This is the one I recommend for most people. It has unlimited everything."
"Perfect!" Grabbing the card first, I show him which phone I want and he quickly unlocks the case.
"I'll ring you up right over here." He scans the phone and card, and I hand him the cash before taking my bag and walking to the hotel across the street. Hopefully they have a room available for a few nights.
Closing the door to my home away from home, I make sure to slide the chain lock in place. I'm exhausted after the shit show that went down today, so I plug my new phone in and grab a quick shower. As I'm standing under the hot water, I sink to the floor pulling my knees against my chest, not even bothering to try and stop the tears from flowing. My heart feels like it's splitting in two. I feel like a giant bag of dicks for leaving Aurora like that.
Hopefully she can forgive me, but I couldn't listen to Mateo for another second. His words have doubt stirring inside me. What if it really is my fault? My vision starts to blur, a usual indicator that a flashback is about to kick my ass; without anyone here to bring me out of it, I have no choice but to let the memories flood.
I'm startled awake by the sound of the door slamming shut. I quickly grab the thumbtack from the wall and get on my knees beside the bed. When I see the tennis shoes in front of me, relief washes over me. I'm always happy to see anything other than the disgusting black and gold dress shoes that Mathias wears.
Holding out the thumbtack, I keep my head down but spread my legs apart. Aldo laughs as he kneels in front of me, taking the tack from my fingers. He runs his fingers along the inside of my thigh before stabbing the tack in and pulling up on it. "There's number eight." He pulls his hand away from me. "Put it back where it belongs."
I pull the tack from my leg and shove it back into the wall before adjusting myself on the floor again. "Open that dirty little mouth." He commands. Immediately, I obey. Cut number eight means that it's been eight days that I've been locked in this room. Eight days since I stabbed Mathias in the thigh to escape this hell. I almost got away, but Aldo grabbed me at the last second and brought me back to Mathias. That's when he instructed the guys that every day someone needs to ‘take care of me' and make sure to mark me.
"Stick out your tongue." Rubbing the tip of his dick across my bottom lip, he smirks and slides his dick down my throat, making me gag.
"Aldo, are you in there?" Another man shouts from outside the door.
"Yeah. A little fucking busy." He turns to yell back. I catch a glimpse of the gun in his waistband.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I focus on making a plan while he continues assaulting my throat. I just need him to put his head back for a few seconds. I force my eyes open to look up at him. Putting my hand on his hip, so it's closer to where I need it to be, I swirl my tongue around him and his head falls back with a moan.
Seeing my opening, I quickly grab the gun at the same exact time I bite his dick as hard as I can. He pulls his hips back, screaming in pain, not taking his eyes off his useless dick. His blood runs down my chin as I slide the safety off and aim at his head, squeezing the trigger.
Making my way to the door, I hear someone on the other side. It's probably James, he's usually the one that comes down with Aldo. Slowly, I crack the door open and aim the gun before he notices me. When his eyes meet mine, I squeeze the trigger and he drops to the floor.
Trying to move quietly through this maze is difficult. Every time I hear a noise, I start to panic a little bit. After what seems like an eternity, I finally reach the front door. Glancing behind me for a split second, I swing the door open to be greeted by at least a dozen men.
"Put the gun down, Evaluna," Mathias smiles at me. "There's no need to get yourself killed today."
"Don't fucking call me that!" I spit, pulling the gun up and aiming at his face. I pull the trigger just as a huge arm wraps around my waist and a cloth covers my face. I recognize the tattoos on his arm immediately; it's Dominic. He's the most gentle of the men that Mathias sends to ‘take care of me,' but I think he's actually in love with me, which makes him almost as bad as Mathias.
Kicking my feet out, I try to fight him, but it feels like I'm trying to dance in a pool of slime. Everything is getting more difficult, and I can't keep my eyes open any longer.
