Chapter 28

Luna

After the bullshit that Karrion just pulled on me, I needed to get down here right away and start this shit. As I approach Mathias, he smirks at me. How can someone be so fucking smug that even chained to a wall, naked as the day he was born, he still thinks he's in control. I smile wildly at him, taking a small detour to grab a few things from the cupboard.

When I spread everything out on the table next to him, he starts laughing. It takes every ounce of control in my body not to lash out and end this early. He deserves to suffer just like I did; three weeks naked, being raped every single day.

"Are your little toys supposed to scare me, Evaluna?" He continues laughing, shaking his head.

"You had my son killed." I grit out through clenched teeth.

"Oh please." He scoffs, narrowing his eyes at me. "You barely knew him."

"And who's fault would that be?" I glare at him, ready to claw his fucking face off. "I couldn't just raise him. You would have found out and taken him from me!"

"You're damn right I would have taken him from you!" he spits, "I didn't want another weak and pathetic son."

"Mateo is not weak or pathetic." I seethe, not knowing why I'm still wasting my breath talking to him. "He's more of a man than someone like you could ever dream of being. He's kind, caring, compassionate, and a whole list of other things that you could never achieve. Not in this lifetime or the next eighty."

"Are you going to start the torture or what?" He fakes a yawn, "Or has it already started and your plan is to bore me to death?"

"We'll see how long you stay cocky." I smile at him as I grab the pliers and open them up. "My guess is you'll be squealing like a pig in no time."

"This isn't my first time in a sketchy predicament." He laughs and looks toward the door. "It probably won't be my last, either."

"I'm glad you brought up ‘first times'." Stepping closer to him, I look him up and down, letting the rage build inside of me.

"His first bath." I bring the pliers to his penis, quickly pinching the skin. He clenches his jaw, but doesn't make a single sound.

"His first word." I pinch him again, but he still doesn't make a sound, so I continue.

"His first steps." Another pinch.

"His first haircut." Pinch.

This time, I don't release him immediately, I pull on the handle until his skin tears and blood coats the jaws of the pliers.

"His first day of school." He mocks me, and I drop the pliers to the ground, grabbing the scalpel from the table and stabbing it into his thigh.

"Easy, Baby Girl." Mateo whispers in my ear. I don't know when he got beside me, he was on the other side of the room next to Lorenzo the last time I looked over. When I look toward the spot he was standing, I notice that everyone has cleared out of the basement; it's just Mathias, Mateo and I down here. "If you hit his femoral artery, he'll bleed out quickly."

"You killed my son." I snarl in Mathias' face before pulling the scalpel from his thigh and jamming it into his knee.

"Aahhh." He shouts as his knee gives out. He's still chained to the wall, without enough leeway to hit the ground, so he has no choice but to deal with the pain. "He was my son too!"

I snap, grabbing the hammer from the table and hitting him in the face with it. "He was MINE!" I scream, tears running down my face. "You took him from me!" I swing the hammer again, connecting with his temple.

He grunts, which only pisses me off worse. "I had to watch my son grow up through a phone screen!" I spin the hammer around in my hand and hit him again, this time using the claw end. It sticks into his forehead, making me use a lot of force to pull it free. His head drops to the side and his knees buckle.

"Unchain him and leave." I demand, spinning to look at Mateo.

He pauses for a minute before grabbing the hammer from my hand and sitting it down on the table. "I'll unchain him for you, but under no circumstance will I be leaving you down here alone." Pulling the key from his back pocket, he makes quick work of freeing Mathias. As soon as the locks are open, his body flops forward, hitting the ground with a thud.

Turning my attention back to the table, I look over all of my options before deciding on the hammer again. I'm standing over him with my weapon raised high above my head when his body jerks and he tries to roll over. I swing my arms down, hitting him right on top of the head, making a nasty crunching sound. His body goes limp once more as I squeeze my eyes shut, continuing to hit him until my arms are jello and no longer working properly.

When my eyes finally open and I'm greeted with the sight of Mathias dead on the floor, I'm hit with a sudden wave of adrenaline. Turning around, I grab the scalpel before straddling Mathias' thighs and stabbing everything within reach. His disgusting dick, his chest, arms, thighs. None of it is safe from me right now.

Bringing the scalpel to his face, I stab him there, too; or what's left of his face anyhow. It's nothing but bloody chunks of meat when I feel Mateo's hand on my shoulder. Shrugging him off, I continue slashing and stabbing until tattooed arms wrap around my stomach, pulling me off of him.

"He's gone, Luna." Alaric whispers, spinning me around to face him. He leans down to look directly into my eyes before speaking again. "It's done, you got him."

"My son died knowing me as Aunt Luna." I cry out, shoving my face into his chest. "I never got to bring him home and properly introduce him to his family."

"I know, I'm sorry." His arms wrap around me, pulling me tighter against him. "Let's get you upstairs and cleaned up, then we'll go check on Mateo."

"What's wrong with Mateo?" I question, pulling my face away to look at him.

"Umm." He arches a brow in confusion. "You don't remember?"

"Remember what?" Stepping away from him, I catch a glimpse of Mathias' body on the ground and my chest tightens. All of a sudden, it feels like I can't inhale enough oxygen.

"When did all of THAT happen?" I point in the direction of the bloody puddle on the floor. That's basically the only thing left at this point, just bloody tissue and bones. There isn't a solid piece of flesh left.

"What's the last thing you remember, Luna?" He asks, holding onto my shoulders.

"Mateo grabbed my shoulder to stop me." I'm trying to take a deep breath, but it feels like I'm sucking through a straw. My ears feel like they need to pop, and don't even get me started on how horrible my arms feel.

"You don't remember grabbing the bat?" He looks at the floor where the bloody bat is laying. I shake my head no, not able to form words right now. "When he tried to stop you, you grabbed the bat and hit him in the head."

"Oh god, no!" I gasp, jumping away from him and running toward the stairs. "No, no, no, no, no, no!"

"Hey," Alaric grabs me as I reach the last step, "The doctors are here, we need to clean you up so you can get checked out."

My chest heaves as I gasp for air. What the fuck have I done? Why don't I remember hitting Mateo with a bat? Or completely destroying Mathias? My vision turns blurry and I squeeze Alaric's hand, hoping to ground myself.

"Come on, let's get you showered." He squeezes my hand back, leading me through the doorway and up the stairs to the guest room. Once he closes the door, he pulls my shirt over my head, tossing it in the trash can in the corner. Next, he pulls my shorts and panties off, throwing them in the same spot.

"I got blood all over you." I whisper, rubbing my hands up and down my arms. "I'm sorry."

"I don't care about the blood." He strips off his pants and shirt, throwing them both in the trash. "It will probably be weird when I walk downstairs in my boxers though."

"I'll get you some fresh clothes when we're clean." Turning around to walk toward the bathroom, I see myself in the vanity mirror. A gasp leaves my mouth as I take in the blood and tissue that's stuck to my face and hair.

Grabbing a few pieces, trying to pick them out, my heart rate begins to increase again. Even in death, Mathias just can't let you have any peace.

"You didn't expect it to just stay on your clothes, did you?" He asks, placing his hand on the small of my back, leading me to the shower.

"I didn't expect any of this." I sob, fresh tears running down my face again. "It's too fucking much."

"You'll get through this, Luna." He says over his shoulder as he bends down to start the water. "You're a strong girl, you just have to let someone help you."

"A strong girl?" I throw my head back, laughing hysterically. "Your brother said the exact opposite."

"He got you out of your head and into that basement, didn't he?" He grabs my hand, leading me under the spray. "He's never going to tiptoe around anyone's feelings."

"He doesn't have to tiptoe," I chuckle, "maybe just don't stomp so fucking hard." Turning under the spray, I motion for him to get in the shower. "You're not going to get clean standing out there."

He pulls his boxers off and I lick my lips as his cock springs free. I wonder if I can convince Mateo to get the same piercing? When he steps into the shower behind me, he puts his hands on my shoulders, spinning me around so I'm no longer facing him. "You're not going to get clean staring at my cock, Luna." He whispers against my ear.
