Epilogue
"I"ve never saton this side before." I chuckle and push a bit of my hair behind my ear. A nervous tick I"ve picked up in the last few months.
I know I have to deal with my trauma. The nightmares still plagues me and though Bishop is there to hold me through each one, I can"t depend on just him to heal me. I have to do the best I can on my own too.
My new therapist smiles politely, crosses her legs and pulls a pad onto her lap, "I know it"s strange for you to seek therapy. But you know that"s completely normal. I"m not here to tell you all the things you"re doing wrong. I"m here to help you find some peace."
I nod my head and let out a deep sigh, "So how does this start?" Many patients have asked me the same question.
"You start from the beginning. Tell me what happened and let"s see if we can work through this together."
I laugh and close my eyes as the flood of memories come washing back into my mind. There never far away. Just a few weeks ago, I"d have done everything in my power to just forget everything Liam and Shade had done for me but I can"t do that anymore. I have to face this.
When I told Bishop that I was going to see a therapist, he encouraged me. There was no judgement or pity. He looked at me like he always looks at me, with nothing but love.
We"re all worried about Liam and where he may be, but so far no one has seen him around town. Wyatt has the boys riding day and night doing patrols to see if they can find him. It"s almost like Liam has vanished. There"s a possibility that he"s not here in Maine at all, and Shade only said he was to fuck with us.
Still, I can"t worry about him. If I live my life worrying about when Liam was going to show up, I"d never get better. Never get stronger. So I"m not going to worry about him anymore. The next time I see Liam, I"ll be ready for him. Stronger and better than the woman he thinks he broke to pieces.
When I opened my eyes again to look at the therapist, a deep sense of calm settles over me. My road to becoming whole again starts with the beginning, "It all started when I met a biker by the name of Brendan..."
