Chapter 6

DELANEY

P aris has put its charm on me the same way Damien has, and by the time we have to leave, I'm already pining to go back. Damien promises we can return often, though, and I know he means it. He's more than proven that he doesn't make vows like that lightly.

My body is still buzzing from all we did, and I'm more than a little tired. We spent a lot of time in bed but very little time actually sleeping. It was more than worth it.

I nap for some of the flight back, but the feeling of being shaken wakes me up. I startle, fear spiking through me as my heart rate skyrockets. The plane shudders around me again, and my stomach drops, my hands beginning to shake with panic.

Warm arms wrap around me, drawing me back down into the bed. Behind the curtain of the plane, nobody disturbs us, and the bed is bigger than the one in my apartment. Right now, though, I can't focus on the sheer luxury of it because my mind is spinning with fear as the plane shakes again.

"What's happening? What's wrong?" I ask in a frantic rush, clinging to Damien.

"Ssh, pretty girl, it's okay," he eases, kissing my head as he holds me tight against his chest. "Nothing's wrong, it's just turbulence. It's like a car driving over gravel. There's some bumps, but it's totally normal. Don't worry."

I nod, though when my stomach dips again, I can't help the panic rising higher and higher over me. "Are … are you sure?" I ask, voice wavering.

"I would never lie to you, baby," Damien promises, pushing my hair out of my face so he can look me in the eye. "Tell me what I promised you."

I swallow thickly, holding on to him tight. "That you'd take care of me."

"Do you trust me?"

I don't care if it's crazy, I trust Damien more than anyone else. "Yes, Daddy."

"Good girl. Let me distract you from the fear, prove to you nothing bad is going to happen," he says softly, and I push closer to him.

"Please," I agree, desperate to be distracted from the turbulence and take sanctuary in the man that I'm falling for. "Distract me, Daddy."

"Such a good girl, letting me take care of you," he praises, and this time, when I shiver, it has nothing to do with fear.

He murmurs sweet reassurances as he tucks us under the blanket, keeping me as close as possible. He bought me a skirt and top from the boutique to wear on the way back, and now his hand skates up under the fabric, sending goosebumps all over my body.

He cups me between my legs, the heel of his hand pressing against my clit through the thin fabric of my panties. My hips rise off the bed sheets, my body desperate for him. I've never been touched like this until yesterday, and now I'm greedy for it—needy and writhing within seconds of his hand on me, knowing how much pleasure he can bring me. He's unlocked something in myself I didn't even know existed.

The plane shakes and lurches in another bout of turbulence, but the moan that leaves me as Damien slides two fingers into me is all pleasure. There's no room for fear when my body is so focused on bliss.

"That's it, so brave," Damien whispers, kissing my neck and making me gasp. "My brave girl."

"Daddy," I whimper, lost in the spell he casts on me. All I can think of is his name. Nothing else matters.

His mouth trails down my neck, and he slides his other hand up my shirt, pushing the material out of the way so he can kiss down my chest and stomach. He adjusts the blankets, hands on my thighs as he settles between my legs. He looks up at me, eyes sparkling with desire, and holds my gaze as he rucks up my skirt and tugs down my panties.

"What are you doing?" I breathe, blinking down at him.

"Kissing every inch of what's mine," he answers like it's obvious.

I'm about to ask what he means when his mouth descends on me. All that comes out of my mouth is a strangled cry of his name as he drags his tongue from my center to my clit. My hands fist on the bed sheets as pleasure overwhelms me. I arch up, thighs falling apart, pressing myself up against him.

Damien's tongue circles my clit, causing a tight tangle of heat to bloom low in my stomach. When he presses two fingers into me, never letting up with the motion of his mouth and tongue on my clit, my eyes roll back in my head.

"Oh God?—"

"What's my name, baby girl?" Damien asks, words spoken against my aching flesh.

"Daddy!" I cry out, heat blooming outward as an orgasm drags me under. I shake, pulling at bed sheets and tightening my thighs around Damien's head. He kisses me gently, pressing soft kisses to each thigh, as I go limp and melt into the sheets.

"You did so fucking good for me, baby girl," he whispers, kissing his way back up my body. His mouth is wet from my release, and I flush, embarrassed. He licks his lips, grinning. "Delicious."

I try to cover my face with my hands, turned on and blushing from his actions and words, but he stops me, shaking his head.

"No hiding," he reminds me, leaning down to nip at my bottom lip as a reprimand.

As I lie there, cradled in his arms, there's no way I can deny it. I'm falling for this man. Falling hard and fast.

When we land, there's a car waiting for us again. The luxury of Damien's lifestyle compared to my bare-bones living is still a shock to me, and the idea of going back to normal life after this whirlwind of a trip makes me droop like an under watered plant. I like living in this magical bubble with Damien, and it's hard to want to return to normality.

As Damien's holding the door open for me, his phone begins to ring. I wave off his apology while he answers, sliding into the leather seats of the car to give him privacy. Deciding I may as well use this time to catch up with my own family, I turn my phone off flight mode and call my grandmother.

She answers quickly, her voice cheery when she realizes it's me calling. She asks where I've been, and I feel myself blush as I tell her a little about Damien. It's the first time I've ever had a man to tell her about, and she asks me everything. My grandma is basically a mom to me, and I can't help but grin as I tell her about Damien, and she tells me she's so excited for me.

"You better bring that boy to meet me," she tells me, putting on her best do as your told voice. She might be in a retirement community, but she's just as strong-minded and opinionated as ever. Her body might be getting frailer, in need of help that the facility can provide her, but her mind's as sharp as ever, which she demonstrates by grilling me about every detail of who Damien is.

"I will at some point, I promise," I tell my grandma. "How about I come visit you this weekend? I'm overdue for a visit."

"Yes, you are, missy," my grandma agrees. "I don't see nearly enough of my favorite granddaughter."

I snort with laughter. "I'm your only granddaughter, Gamma."

"Still my favorite," she maintains, humor in her voice.

"I'll come see you on Saturday, okay?" I say, missing her too.

"See you then, honey. Love you."

"Love you, Grandma," I say back, then hang up.

Damien's still on his call outside, so I take the time to text my brother to check in with him. He answers quickly, and I tell him my plans to go see our grandma at the weekend. He suggests coming too, and I smile, excited to see him. With him being in college, he's so busy all the time it feels like I haven't seen him properly in ages. We agree to meet at the retirement facility on Saturday, and by the time Damien gets back in the car, I'm smiling and excited to see my family. They mean the absolute most to me, and I've always been close to them. I work so hard to support them because I love them, and I want to make sure they have the best.

Speaking to them reminds me of that love and that motivation, and between them and Damien, I feel insanely happy and grateful.
