Chapter 17

Taryn’s heart fluttered as Losax took her hand and led her to the departure area for their date. They walked through a busy space station, passing exotic shops and restaurants, before arriving at their destination—a sleek, silver spaceship.

The ship’s exterior was a dazzling sight, with smooth curves and transparent panels that revealed the vastness of space beyond. Taryn struggled to hold in a gasp of awe as they boarded the ship, her eyes wide with wonder.

As they made their way through the ship’s interior, she noted the luxurious design and lavish furnishings. The walls were lined with shimmering panels that changed color with each step they took, adding to the otherworldly atmosphere.

Losax stepped into a private dining area, where a candlelit table awaited them. The room was bathed in soft light, giving it a romantic ambiance. Through the panoramic windows, Taryn could see stars glimmering in the distance.

“This is incredible,” Taryn breathed, feeling like she had entered a dream. “I can’t believe how beautiful it is.”

“I’m glad you like it,” Losax said with a smile. “I wanted to create a special experience for us tonight.”

Taryn took her seat at the table, admiring the intricate details of the place settings and the stunning view outside. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that she was in a fairytale—that this was all a dream and she would wake up in her bed back on Earth. Fortunately, the rational part of her brain realized it was irrational fear seeping in to her waking thoughts.

As they dined on exquisite Naar specialty dishes, Losax shared stories about their culture and traditions. Taryn listened intently, savoring both the delicious food and his captivating words.

After dinner, Losax suggested they take a stroll around the ship to fully appreciate the view of space. They walked hand in hand through corridors lined with colorful artwork and arrived at an observation deck with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Taryn couldn’t believe the vastness of space that surrounded them, with countless stars and galaxies stretching out further than the eye could see. She felt small and insignificant, yet at the same time, a sense of wonder filled her.

“It’s breathtaking,” she whispered, turning to Losax with a smile.

He gazed back at her, his expression soft. “Being out here, it reminds me of how precious these moments are,” he said, his tone sincere.

Taryn nodded in agreement, grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. As they stood gazing at the stars, Taryn felt her connection to Losax growing stronger. And at that moment, she knew this date was not just an evening of romance.

As they stood on the enclosed observation deck, Taryn gazed up at the stars with awe while Losax stood by her side, his hand lightly resting on her lower back. The vastness of space and the breathtaking view of distant galaxies filled her with wonder.

She looked over at Losax when he shifted closer to her before he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a soft, tender kiss. Taryn closed her eyes and melted into his embrace, savoring every sensation and emotion that flooded through her.

When they parted, she opened her eyes to see Losax looking at her with a warm smile. She returned it with a smile of her own, feeling a deep sense of contentment and anticipation for the journey ahead.

“I need to use the restroom,” Taryn said, stepping back slightly. “Would you care to join me?”

Losax raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled by her invitation. “Is this another Earth custom I’m not aware of?”

“Maybe,” she replied with a mischievous glint in her eye. “Come with me and find out.”

He took her hand eagerly as she led him towards the bathroom at the back of the ship. Once inside, Taryn made sure they were alone before turning to face him with a grin.

“I wanted some privacy to have a conversation with you,” she said softly, leaning against the counter.

Losax nodded understandingly and stepped closer to her. “This is a very strange place to talk,” he replied. “But I’m always happy to spend time with you, no matter the location.”

“Thank you for indulging me,” Taryn stated, almost unable to hide her amusement.

“What do you have planned?”

“A repeat of what we did after your sparring match and perhaps a little more,” she whispered before stretching upward as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
