CHAPTER THREE

Jacob smirked as hewatched Leilani completely unravel. She dropped her lip gloss after her initial deer-in-the-headlights moment and then leaped to her feet.

"Hi, sorry, well, not sorry. Hello Jacob. Blake, err, Mr. Dufort is expecting you," she spluttered.

Fuck, she was adorable.

It was a shame she didn't wear glasses, as the whole virgin secretary thing could be a real vibe he could get on board with.

If she liked to be whipped, hell even better.

"I'm here to see you," he said, taking a few steps closer to her desk.

"What?" She froze again.

Damn, that lip gloss was hot. It was thick, sticky, and would look amazing wrapped around his cock. Not that he hadn't had four amazing orgasms last night. Three of them he had visualized Leilani spread before him.

He"d love nothing more than to take her to Sailors for a night of debauchery.

They would take that fucking lip gloss with them.

Alas, she was Blake's PA.

"Well, first, you're far nicer to look at than my brother, and I can almost guarantee you'd be a better lunch date than him."

"Oh, God. I called you Jacob." Leilani pressed her eyes closed.

He frowned, confused.

"Ah, yes. That's my name."

"Yes but...sorry, Mr. Dufort," she said.

"Nope. That was my grandfather's name," Jacob replied. "I'm twenty-three. Please don't make me sound like an old man."

Those pretty lips stretched into a smile.

"Okay. Sorry."

"I would accept your apology, but I'm highly, and I mean highly, offended. You could make it up to me by having lunch with me."

Her mouth dropped open.

"Let's make a run for it. Take the sushi across to the park and when Blake finally discovers us, oops, it's all gone."

Leilani giggled and his world unraveled.

Jesus, she was gorgeous.

Lip gloss aside, her big chocolate eyes were surrounded by long black lashes—no doubt courtesy of whichever parent was Hawaiian—and almost stole the show.

Not quite.

Leilani was slim, but she also had curves any red-blooded man would want to take hold of and do naughty things to.

He certainly wanted to.

And wasn't sure how much he cared she worked for his brother. Except the part where it could only be one night and include other sexual partners. It was highly unlikely to be her scene and wasn't something he could simply toss out as an invitation right here in Blake's office.

Hey, so would you like to have a threesome? No. How about four? I could arrange five if you like, but I find that's getting a little crowded.

But he was tempted.

Leilani's laughter was gliding under his skin and right to his cock. The need to see her naked, see her trembling for him in need, was growing.

Blake didn't realize he was more than flirting with this woman. He desired her a great deal.

"Gone, along with my job." She laughed.

"I'll give you a job if he fires you." Jacob leaned in, whispering loudly.

"Or you could stop flirting with my personal assistant." Blake growled from the doorway.

Jacob held her nervous gaze for a second more, winked, and then straightened. "Ah, here's my boring married brother. The sensible one."

Blake snorted.

Then he grabbed the sushi from Leilani and nodded at the far door. "Head out for lunch. I'll make sure he's gone by the time you get back."

When her eyes shot to his, holy fuck, his cock hardened. Scorching heat passed between them, and Jacob was five seconds from doing something about it.

Leilani's cheeks flushed, and Jacob would put money on her panties being soaked, but before he could inappropriately ask, she turned, grabbed her purse, and then rushed out the door.

"Now look what you've done." He frowned. "Scared her away."

"Do not play with this one, Jacob." His brother growled.

"Let's eat," Jacob replied, because he wasn't sure he wouldn't say the wrong thing. Such as, all I want to do is play with her. And so would my friends at Sailors.

Leilani was forbidden fruit, and while it was unlikely she'd be interested in what he wanted, there must be a way he could play that was within her safe zone.

He just had to work out how.

––––––––

"GIVE HER A chance toexplain, Jacob." Blake said, sliding a piece of sushi into his mouth.

He finished his own piece and shook his head. While Blake might not know his own birth father—yet—he had no idea what Jacob was going through.

It was much more complicated knowing the man was now an extended part of their family.

"Aren't you mad? I mean, she still hasn't told you who your father is. I know we accepted it growing up, but maybe part of it was because we were both in the same boat."

Blake shrugged.

"Not at all?" Jacob pressed.

"I have a child on the way. I'm married. Sure, I suppose it would be good to know who my dad is or was, but I don't. Maybe when the baby is born, I'll want to know. Fuck I don't know." Blake let out a long breath. "But you do. So we need to work this out."

Jacob sat back in his chair. "Is this causing issues with Bella?"

Blake frowned. "No. Why?"

"Ward is her stepfather. Her dad, for all intents and purposes." He pointed out.

"And? It's not like you married her," Blake replied.

Jacob began to cough. "Okay. Weird. What I mean is, me not dealing with this. Is it a thing between you both?"

Blake pushed his lunch away. "No. Not yet. But it could be. We're married. The Montgomery's are my in-laws. You're my brother. Today, though, I'm worried about you."

Goddamn his mother for doing this to all of them. She was so selfish.

Why hadn't she just kept the secret as she had all these years? None of them would have known. They could have just lived their lives in complete ignorance.

Who wants their head in the sand now, huh?

"You know, I wish she hadn't told me." Jacob voiced his thoughts, using his chopsticks to push a piece of sushi around his plate. "I don't know how to deal with this."

"The whisky and sex not helping?"

"Fuck you."

Black snickered.

Jacob looked up and let out a chuckle of his own. "It's not not helping."

"Okay, I am being partly selfish. We're having a baby, there will be family events. Mom keeps ringing. Bella told me to fix it. Logan messaged, asking for an update." Blake said, referring to their eldest cousin. "All that aside, I don't want you to go through this alone. We've been through a lot growing up."

Jacob nodded.

"Is the business doing okay?" his brother asked.

"Yes, the team is holding it together while I—"

"Drink and fuck?" Blake asked, his brow raised.

"Speaking of, how opposed are you to me asking Leilani out?"

He was over this conversation and knew it would change the topic.

"Ask her out or take her to Sailors and introduce her to a life of sin?" Blake asked.

"It can be both." Jacob smirked and felt his body stir again at the idea.

"The answer is no."

"I don't know if you noticed, but earlier—" Jacob started, referring to her visceral reaction to him.

"I noticed. And I know you'll eat her up and spit her right back out. Then I'd lose an amazing PA. Right now, I need my life to be stable. I have a new wife. We're still dealing with the legal shit with Randall Scott," Blake said, referring to Bella's birth father, who'd stolen her family company. "And I'm going to be a dad. Find someone else to play with."

Jacob popped the last piece of sushi into his mouth.

She wasn't just some woman he'd noticed. He had plenty of those at the club. Or any event he attended. Or walking down the street.

Leilani was becoming a little bit of an obsession.

"Back to the topic at hand. Just ring Mom. Let her tell you her reasons why she did this. Listen to her. Walking out after she landed the bomb on all of us at our wedding lunch was a fair reaction, bro, but it's been two weeks."

Jacob stood, gathering the empty containers, and glanced outside the office.

"She has an hour," Blake said.

Damn, was he that obvious?

"Then I'll leave her a note." Jacob laughed when Blake groaned. Then he tossed their rubbish into the trash and grabbed a soda out of the fridge. "Fine, I'll ring Mom. But I'm not ready to face Ward yet."

His brother nodded and slapped him on the shoulder as he rounded his desk and sat down in front of his computer. "One step at a time."

"Good talk. Now, give me a pen and paper to scribe my love note to Leilani."

"Jesus," Blake moaned.

But he did, and five minutes later, Jacob walked out of the InkWell offices, grinning.
