Chapter 3

Elara

Meeting my fated mate was not what I expected, nor did I even want it. I don't want to be fated to the Alpha of the pack and I feel like he did feel the same way. He was looking at me like I had done something wrong and like he was going to throw up the minute that it happened. I didn't know how to say anything to him because I just didn't want to deal with it. I'm sure he will reject me soon enough and then he would end up leaving me alone. That would be the best thing if I am being honest.

I don't know why but he has been showing up at the bar almost every night with his group of friends and they would always sit in the VIP section. I feel like his eyes were always looking at me, it didn't matter what I was doing. I felt really weird about it, and I wanted to confront him, but it seems like he really didn't know how he was doing everything or even why he was keeping me at a distance. I would have preferred that he just reject me and get this over with, but I think he has just come to the conclusion that he isn't so sure what he wants to do.

If it were up to me, I would have just rejected him and been done with it, but I really don't want to get kicked out. I have built my life here and I don't want anything to stand in my way. I know how ridiculous it might sound to do it this way but it's just how it is and there's nothing more than I can do about it. I guess time will tell me where to go from here and then some.

I just hope that I don't live with any regrets right now.

Pursing my lips, I run my fingers through my hair and try to not do anything else as I watch over everything and make sure someone isn't trying any funny business. I have no clue what is going to happen next, feeling a bit weird about everything but I think it is safe to say that there are so many people who are falling in line the way that I am. I know that I have to figure out my needs as soon as possible but it isn't always easy when it comes down to everything.

"What's going on with Alpha Orson?" One of my friends, Trisha who works for me, asks as she raises an eyebrow, "I have never seen him come so much before and it seems like he is on the lookout for someone. Do you know?"

There is no point in me telling her that I'm his fated mate because I don't need it spread everywhere when I just want him to leave me alone. I know that this kind of thing could end up not being very good, but I don't know what else to do. There's no way he is going to just listen to me if I tell him that I want him to stop coming.

"I don't know, maybe he is trying to relax." I murmur, running my fingers through my hair, "besides, if he is giving me business, what's the big deal?"

She doesn't look too sure about that, but she ends up nodding her head. There's really not much more for me to say, just trying to do everything in my power to get all of this done. I know how she is feeling, and I know very much how this could really turn around and bite us if we're not careful. We're playing a dangerous game, a very big one at that, and it is becoming more and more obvious to me that this isn't going to turn out the way that I need it to. If it does, I'm going to be really surprised.

"Hi, beautiful." One of my regulars comes up, flashing me a big smile because he thinks that he is the hottest man here and that he can have me, "I was wondering if you had time to think about us going on a date or something? I'd really like for it to happen and I kind of wish that maybe you would see things from my perspective. Wouldn't it be a good idea for us to… You know?"

I don't know why he is talking to me like that, but I don't understand why he is so interested in me. It makes me want to kick him to the curb and I hate that it is even coming to this. I never would have guessed this to come around this way, but I do wish that he would just realize it is not a good idea for him to be acting like this. If it were up to me, I would have kicked him out already but technically, he isn't doing anything wrong, so I don't have a reason to kick him out.

"I don't know how many times I have to tell you I'm not interested." I murmur softly, giving him a look that I'm sure would annoy the piss out of him, "I get that you think you are the hot shit, but you're not to me. I'm not interested in anything that you're offering so I suggest you go after someone else."

I'm being polite about it, or at least I think that I am. I couldn't be sure what would happen next but when he reached out to touch me, I thought that I might have to murder him. Shockingly, a ferocious roar sounds through the area, making the both of us jump and when I look up, I see Alpha Orson storming right towards us and he looks pissed.
