Chapter 22

CHAPTER 22

ARIES

I should have thought of this before. It’s a simple damn solution and will work out for everyone involved. Including whoever takes over Roger’s business.

I could think of a few other ways to handle this, but going this route, it would be the easiest way to draw Roger in. I just have to see what the rest of my brothers think about it first.

Getting back to the clubhouse, I’d been nearly out of my mind with all the thoughts racing through it. I didn’t want to think of the possibilities of what could happen to my woman. Or the women who belong to my brothers. Or my brothers.

If something happened to any of them because of Roger’s crazy ass idea that Rory belongs to him, I’ll carry the blame with me for the rest of my life. It’s bad enough that I’ll hold the weight of not reading through the lines of that fucking letter and let Rory get away from me in the first place.

“What do you mean a fight of all fights?” Rory asks, staring at me as I finish dressing after the shower. The two of us had finished showering without her asking anything else or making her little threats.

Fuck me. Those little threats were cute.

I’d like to see her try kicking me. She’ll find herself over my knee with my hand against her ass.

The thought of how she reacted the last time my hand was on her ass filters through my mind. Damn, I sure hope she tries. Let her give me a reason to spank her sweet, perky ass.

She’d been hotter than hell, and having a repeat sounds pretty damn good to me. I’ve already got plans for her ass. What I intend to do to her is going to be even sweeter. Rory might fight me at first, but by the time I’m finished with her, she’ll be begging for every little touch I give her.

“It’s a fight that will be arranged between him and me,” I say, leaving it at that. She doesn’t need to know the logistics of the fight.

Roger doesn’t have a chance in hell against me. He’s a weasel in comparison, and I’ll win the match, and the bastard will be dead. So long as my brothers agree to it. The difference between this time and the last, it’ll just be me verses Roger. Hell, if Izaiah can arrange it for us, we can even make it into his main event. I’m sure there are plenty of people who wouldn’t mind coming out to watch the fucker get what he deserves.

“That doesn’t explain anything other than the fact it’s a fight. How could fighting Roger with your fists do anything other than piss him off even more?”

I turn away from her to pull on my boots as she asks this. I don’t want to answer her, and I don’t intend to. Not right now, at least. We don’t need any more secrets, but she doesn’t need to worry about a death match that might not even happen.

“Scamp.” Straightening, I move to Rory and draw her into my arms. I’ll give her what I can, but I’m not telling her the exact details. I don’t want to see the fear in her eyes. “I’ve got this, baby. When it comes to a fight with Roger, he ain’t gonna leave it pissed off. That’s if I can even get him to agree to it and the terms.”

“And let me guess, the winner gets me.”

“That about sums it up, but there’ll be more to it, that part I can’t talk to you about. It’s club business, and you aren’t involved in club business. No ol’ lady is.”

Rory’s face starts to get that look like she wants to protest, but instead, she draws that lip in between her teeth and nods.

“Now, come on, let’s get the fuck out of this room before I decide to have you ride my face rather than go talk to my brothers.”

I let her go to take her hand in mine and guide her out of the room, down the hall, into the main room of the clubhouse. The room was already filled with my brothers except for Viper.

“Viper take Jade to that appointment?” I ask Cyprus when I make it to his side.

“Yeah.” He smirks. “You missed the drama over it when he told her they needed to reschedule it.”

“Brother, that woman of his, she might have once been sweet and shy . . . oof.”

I look at Kevlar to see him bent forward slightly, his hand holding his stomach.

“Woman, what the fuck was that for?” Kevlar had his head cocked to his woman.

“That’s my best friend you’re talking about,” she tells him.

“Yeah, and her being knocked up has her crazier than you.” He snorts.

“So . . .” she draws out. “It’s hormones. Get over it.”

“How about we chill the fuck out until he gets back?” Cyprus suggests, looking at his phone. “Noelle took Bride shopping for some school clothes because the girl doesn’t seem to think she’s got enough and now needs new shoes.”

“A girl can never have enough shoes,” Rosemary retorts. “What style is she looking to get?”

Cyprus turned his phone around and shows us. “She picked out a pair of Doc Martins and fuckin’ pink Converse.”

“Girls got taste.” Rosemary laughs. “I wouldn’t mind having those myself.”

“She’s just a little girl still. She should be into princesses still. Instead, she asked to be signed up for kickboxing at the gym and wants to join a field hockey team.”

“I played field hockey,” Rory speaks up.She had played. She’d been damn good at it too. “I could show her some pointers if you want.”

“That would be good ‘cause I sure as shit don’t know anything about the sport. Football. Yes. Baseball. Yes. Basketball. Again yes. Even NASCAR, fuckin’ yes. Volleyball. No. Field hockey, what the fuck is that? Isn’t hockey supposed to be played on ice?”

Several of my brothers join me as I start chuckling. When it comes to Bride, Cyprus is the only parent figure she’s ever had. He’d gotten full custody of her a couple years ago. Their mom was a bitch and didn’t give a shit about Bride. Cyprus, on the other hand, loves that girl as if she were his own kid instead of his little sister.

“Just wait until you and Noelle have a kid of your own.” Wolf snorts, shaking his head.

“Fuck you,” Cyprus grunts.

“Come on, Rory, let’s leave these men to their horrors of children and go in the kitchen to figure out dinner for tonight.”

“I don’t really know how to cook,” Rory admits.

“That’s okay, I’m not the greatest either. But we can figure something out between the two of us, I’m sure of it.”

Rory looks over her shoulder in my direction as Rosemary drags her away from me. I give her a wink in assurance as they get to the kitchen door.

“She looks to be doing better today,” Mace states, getting my attention.

“Yeah, she is. We’ve worked a lot of things out between the two of us,” I confide in my brothers and glance at each of them. “Got something I want to bring to the table when Viper gets back. Don’t know if y’all will agree.”

“What?” Cyprus asks, cocking a brow.

“A fight,” I state, looking to Kevlar. “We get Roger to agree to a death match.”

“Well, hell.” Kevlar grunts.

“It’s a simple solution. You and I both know he won’t beat me.” Roger could never beat me before in the few times he’d gotten in my face. I might not have beat the shit out of him, but I made it known I wasn’t to be fucked with back then.

“Yeah, but you know he’s a cheat. He’ll have something up his sleeves,” he warns.

“I’m planning on it.” A grin tugs at my lips. “I sure as hell am planning on him having something up his sleeve, but that’s if he’d even agree to it.”

“Where are you thinking about this being held?” Wolf asks.

“You want to draw Izaiah into it? Let him organize it? Have him be the mediator of sorts.” Cyprus pretty much read my mind about what I’m thinking by using Izaiah.

“Yeah,” I confirm, nodding.

Cyprus nods. “It’s a good idea, but we wait to finish discussing it until Viper gets back. If we do this, it needs to be planned out to the smallest detail.”

“Agreed.” I wasn’t leaving anything to chance, including if, by chance, Roger did win in a fight against me.

If by a miracle he wins, I’ll ensure Fox takes Rory somewhere and make it so she disappears, and Roger won’t be able to find her. When I told her that Roger was never touching her again, I damn well meant it.

I’ll be doing my damnedest to make sure that fuckwad dick doesn’t have a chance in hell to win if we can manage to have him agree to the fight in the first place. Maybe Izaiah will be willing to sweeten the pot for us all to be able to get rid of him.
