EPILOGUE
A cold, wet wind brushed across the city located on the River Thames. Danger lurked, but the lovely old city had seen danger before. Two men entered a private, upper-class establishment. Both had blond hair, but one was much taller than the other. In fact, the sweet-faced little twink looked much too young to be there.
The taller man was intimidating, with the tattoos and piercings that decorated every inch of his skin. Straight blond hair brushed the top of his leather-clad shoulders and danger showed in his big, cornflower blue eyes. The collar he wore was a surprise, though, and left little doubt as to who was in charge in the relationship.
The couple made their way to a table where five other men sat—only they were no men. Creatures of the night they were, a danger to all humankind, waiting for the last of the group to arrive.
"Hugh! About time you got here."
Kain grinned as his mate, Asmodeus, arranged the empty chairs for the last pair in their group. "Well, look at you."
"Looking good, Hugh. Like the tattoos,"
Allen said. "And the piercings are cool too. Amazing what a difference six months can make."
Hugh waited until Tobis sat, then joined the group, his eyes traveling over the table. How they all had changed. Kain wore a large ruby round his neck that brought many envious looks. Asmodeus, Kain's master, had long, pitch black hair and eyes the color of night. A ruby red signet ring on his left hand drew attention, as did the one in his earlobe.
Hugh nodded to Kain. "Good to see you, Ice."
Kain quickly introduced Asmodeus, and the brothers introduced Chaus.
Hugh looked at Jordan and Allen. "Yeah, I'd say things have changed for all of us."
Jordan and Allen had the same build, same hair color, and pretty much the same facial features, except one had dimples and the other had a dent in his chin.
The large Egyptian cuffs on both men's wrists represented their collars—they were both slaves to the vampire Chaus. The redheaded man wasn't much shorter than the other two and had a swimmer's build—long and sleek.
His wavy, shoulder length, deep red hair drew plenty of attention. So did the predatory grace in the man's movements. This creature was clearly the brothers' master.
Hugh made eye contact with both Asmodeus and Chaus, then lowered his eyes in a sign of submission to the powerful immortals. "It's nice to meet the both of you. Thank you for allowing my friends to meet with me. I truly appreciate you letting us get back together."
Asmodeus nodded his head. "It is a pleasure to meet the friends and mates of Kain."
"I agree,"
Chaus said.
Hugh sighed when Tobis patted his hand. Yes, he was nervous. Asmodeus was a Prince of Hell and Chaus was one of the oldest, if not the oldest, vampire in creation.
Then there was his master—an American werewolf in London. Hugh's lips twitched at the thought, and he relaxed. It did help to see he wasn't the only one in the group who was now collared.
Kain, Jordan, and Allen were submissives, like him. And they were right. Out of the four of them, he had changed the most in appearance. But this was what he wanted, what he had yearned for.
Every tattoo Tobis had placed on him—from the ones on his arms to the ones over his chest and back—they freed him. And the piercings were just a bonus, as was Tobis letting him grow out his hair.
Jordan leaned closer. "What's it like, Hugh? To shift?"
Hugh thought for a moment. "It's somewhat painful to have my body totally rearranged. It freaked me out at first to hear and feel the bones snap. The first time was the hardest. Tobis helped me through it, but the pull of the moon? I can't explain it. I was afraid, I admit, but there was no stopping the change."
"He's a beautiful wolf too. Big and blond and vicious. He killed his first human that night,"
Tobis said. "I was very proud of him."
"What's it like to drink blood?"
Hugh asked the brothers.
Allen bounced in his seat, then settled when Chaus looked at him. "Like what you said. It can't really be explained, but the taste, the smell of it! Oh my, the fear I can taste when I feed. It's sublime."
"That sums it up nicely,"
Chaus said. "They are ferocious while killing."
Jordan turned to Kain. "Kain? Want to share?"
"We feed off sexual energy, and yes, I can't describe it. That feeling of power is something,"
Kain said.
"Hell certainly agrees with him,"
Asmodeus added.
Hugh's mouth fell open. "You mean you've been to—"
Allen goggled. "Whoa, there really is a—"
"I am the Prince of Lust and ruler of the second level of Hell,"
Asmodeus stated.
Tobis laughed.
Jordan rolled his eyes. "There are vampires, demons, and werewolves at the table, but the idea that Hell actually exists freaks you out, Allen? Really?"
Allen's eyes started to lighten to that pale blue that signified what he was. "Oh, bite me, brother dear."
"Pets."
Chaus spoke quietly, but the warning was there. "Behave or you will both be sitting at my feet. I'd imagine carrying on a conversation with your friends would be hard from the floor."
"Yes, master."
"Sorry, sir."
Chaus shook his head. "Such lovely problems they are."
Asmodeus grinned. "It's that control issue they each seem to have. But by Satan's horns, they are worth it though."
Chaus laughed. "Ye gods, yes."
Tobis snickered as he raised his glass. "I agree. May I propose a toast? To finding our mates!"
Everyone raised the glasses. "Hear, hear!"
Asmodeus clinked his glass of wine to the bunch. "To the dark desires that first caught our attention."
Chaus lifted his glass. "And to bringing those desires out in the open."
"Hear, hear."
Hugh lifted his glass again, his gaze flickering over the other six males at the table. Everything about them whispered dark and dangerous sex. By the night's end more than one mortal would succumb to their appeal. His gaze swept over the mass of human bodies at the club. He was ready for some fun. Good thing tonight was a full moon.
Tobis winked at Hugh, then raised his glass once more. "And most importantly, to a successful hunt! Let the games begin."
