95. Alice

ALICE

I tap my spoon against my lips as I savor the last bit of chai ice cream.

“I can see an idea brewing in your brain.” Michael sets his plate on the coffee table in front of us. “What is it?”

“Well, Amber using our recipes has me thinking…” Michael tenses, and I shake my head, setting my plate down and turning on the couch to face him. “No, it’s nothing bad. I was just thinking about the scholarship foundation idea. What if we did cooking classes as a way to raise money?”

His brows lift at my idea. “Cooking classes?”

I lift a shoulder. “It might be a dumb idea. We’d either have to do a ton of them or charge a ton of money, but if people like recreating our food…” I shrug again. “It’s just an idea.”

Michael is nodding. “It’s a good idea. And people would definitely pay for it.” He rubs his chin. “We could have it be ten grand a head. Have eight stations set up, with two people per station so couples or friends could sign up together.”

My mouth drops open. “Ten thousand dollars a person?”

He just dips his chin, acknowledging my question while blowing past it. Like ten freaking thousand dollars for a cooking class isn’t the most absurd thing that’s ever been suggested.

“We can pick different metro areas to offer them in, but if we do… eight… minus the cost of renting out the spaces and set up… We should be able to raise about a million dollars.”

I blink at his math, then whisper, “A million dollars?”

Michael finally takes notice of my shock. “I know it sounds like a lot, but school is expensive. And if you figure around forty thousand as an average, that’s only twenty-five kids getting a full ride. Or we can spread it out and do, I dunno, ten-grand scholarships to help with tuition instead of covering it. Then we can help a hundred kids.”

He’s tipping his head back and forth, doing the math, but my brain can’t even keep up. Because all I can focus on is the love I have for this man.

“We could also?—”

I don’t hear whatever he’s about to say because I launch myself across the couch at him.

I circle my arms around Michael’s neck and hug him as tightly as I can. “I love you so much.”

His chest rumbles against mine as he chuckles. “I love you too, Sweetness.”
