Epilogue - Kiera

EPILOGUE - KIERA

I plugged in my Himalayan salt lamp in the shape of a crescent moon and set it on the table at the booth. After flipping it on, I placed my hands on my hips and did a little spin, glancing around. It had been two weeks since the night I learned I was Neo's mate, and they'd been the best two weeks of my life. I'd grown more connected with Neo and the tribe. Lucius hadn't shown his face once, and I'd nearly forgotten about him at all. I had, however, shown the others pictures of him I'd found online. I wanted them to know what he looked like in case he ever tried to confront them.

My gaze remained fixed on the lamp, and I smiled to myself, loving the soft, warm glow of comforting light it cast through the small space of the camper.

This place was so much cozier than my apartment in the city I'd left behind. In fact, it felt more like home than anywhere else I'd ever been. I was positive Neo's presence had everything to do with that.

The man had a way of making the smallest of spaces feel like a freaking sanctuary.

My gaze landed on the makeshift shelf I'd created out of some old milk crates next to the booth. I moved to it and began reorganizing the jars of herbs I'd shelved there. The sunburn lotion I'd helped Miranda make with green tea, aloe, and calendula filled my head and I wondered if it had turned out. I could see myself helping Miranda with all of her creations and the online business she'd started regularly.

At least, until I could find a job of my own.

Crescent Creek was small, and I doubted there would be a need for banishing or binding spells, and I wasn't up for traveling anymore unless it was somewhere romantic with Neo. While I wasn't giving up on magic—I was a witch, after all—I wasn't planning on treading along the path I'd been on before with it.

The roar of a motorcycle pulling up out front sent a wave of excitement through me, igniting a flurry of butterflies in my lower stomach. I didn't think that rush of anticipation to see Neo would ever dampen, and I was glad.

I quickly finished arranging the jars of herbs on the makeshift shelf and then moved to sit at the booth. Neo had given me full creative control when it came to personalizing the camper with my belongings, and while I hadn't gone wild with my purple, witchy decorations, my stuff did occupy the entire space. Although, it was mainly dried herbs, live plants, and crystals.

"It looks like a jungle in here," Neo said when he opened the door. He stepped inside, his gaze sweeping over the pothos plant I'd gently draped around the walls of the camper. My spider plant hanging in the window caught his attention next.

"I gave away my big plants," I insisted. Actually, I'd given away nearly all of my houseplants because there wasn't room. Gretchen had been happy to get them. "I couldn't give up these two or the one in our bedroom, though."

"I wasn't complaining. I'm a panther. We love the feel of the jungle."

A small smile twisted my lips. "Good to know. That means I can visit the cute little florist shop on Main Street and buy all sorts of tiny plants, right? Air plants. Succulents." I ticked them off my fingers.

Neo arched a brow, hunger igniting in his eyes. "Suck-you-whats?"

Heat swept through my lower regions as he stalked toward me. I licked my lips, preparing for his kiss, and noticed when the heat in his eyes flamed brighter at the sight. When he reached me, he traced his fingertips along my jawline, his eyes locked with mine. Shivers slid down my spine as he leaned in and brushed his lips over mine in a teasing way. His hands cradled my face, holding me steady as I melted into him.

He kissed me slowly, sensuously, and passionately.

Each brush of his lips against mine pulled little moans from my throat. I loved when he kissed me like this. It was intoxicating and seductive, and it made me want to kiss him forever.

When he pulled back, disappointment crashed through me. All I wanted was his mouth on mine again. I glanced up at him, meeting his intense gaze, preparing to beg.

"You want small plants? Let's go get you some," he murmured, before brushing his perfect lips against mine once more. "We have some shopping to do."

Was this man real?

He kissed me until my bones felt like gelatin and then wanted to take me houseplant shopping?

I might have died and gone to heaven.

"You want to go shopping? Now?" I asked, knowing he'd just come home from work at the mechanic shop.

He took my hand and interlaced our fingers before pulling me toward the tiny bathroom. "After we shower."

My bones melted as my teeth sank into my bottom lip.

While the shower was the smallest I'd ever used, this man knew how to make perfect use of the space, and while I was eager for him to do it again, I also couldn't help but think about how lucky I was to have found him.

Neo had become my everything, and every day he made me feel as though I was his everything, too. Gratitude for the twist of fate that had brought us together pumped through me as I followed him toward our microscopic bathroom. I silently thanked the stars for guiding me to him, and for giving me a love that was everything I never knew I needed and more.
