I strode around the statue's base, determined to maintain my disguise as one of the assembled Children.
Then I stopped cold.
The room writhed with motion.
Robed figures scattered in every direction, pouring through side doors like angry ants fleeing their home.
A young woman I recognized as the Princess stood frozen at the center of the chamber, her gaze locked on the balcony. Her escorts gripped her arms and tugged her forward. On the stage, beside the throne, the red-robed leader screamed.
