CHAPTER NINETEEN

The music from the stereo was soft old school as they both laid naked in bed, side by side, staring deep into each other's eyes. Hammer rubbed her smooth brown skin from her beautiful face to her tight butt all the way between her thighs. She loved his touch and he loved touching her. It was everything it wasn't supposed to be. Sweet. Gentle. And beautiful. But they both knew, after they went down that road, it would return toxic once again. Because they had yet to deal with their issues: Hammer was rarely home, and Amelia didn't want that kind of marriage anymore.

But his touch felt too good for her to stop him.

And she felt too good to the touch for him to stop himself.

They made love. It was a long, heartfelt, achingly beautiful time of relief. He pumped into her all that he had, and she took all she could take from him. It was slow, it was fast, it was a pounding, it was easy. She was on top of him. He was on top of her. And then, after nearly an hour of on-the-verge-of-cumming mind-blowing lovemaking, she finally had an orgasm that was almost too intense to bear, and he poured into her so much that every vein in his body displayed how electrifying it made him feel. It was a hard, sweaty cum. It took them there, back again, and there once more. By the time it was over, and Hammer pulled his long, thick rod out of Amelia and moved off of her and onto his back, they both could hardly move.

When they did finally get up the strength to even look at each other, Hammer turned onto his side and pulled her against his still sweat-filled body. And their eyes showed their devastation. They loved each other. They couldn't live without each other. They couldn't live with each other. Both of them had eyes that were bright with unshed tears.

"This isn't healthy for our divorce," Amelia said as Hammer placed his hand on the side of a face he had grown to adore.

"A divorce isn't healthy either."

"Playing second fiddle to the United States government isn't healthy either."

"It's a job."

"It's a choice. You made your choice."

"Millie, you know the job that I do. I can't just turn that shit off."

"Then don't turn it off. But I don't play second fiddle to anybody, Hammer. You knew that before we got married, and you said it wouldn't be an issue. It's an issue. It's a motherfucking boulder. And I'm not putting up with it anymore. You need to find you a woman who will. I'm certain she won't be hard to find. I'm sure there's a few hundred thousand ready to stand in line for the opportunity. And the way you lay it down in bed?" She turned onto her back. "You'll have no trouble replacing me."

As soon as those ways left her mouth, it affected both of them.

For Amelia, it was the naked truth. It was the realization that another woman could be in his arms, and in his bed, as soon as the ink dried on their divorce. If not already! And although she talked a big talk, she still wasn't sure if she could handle that.

For Hammer, it was the fact that he could move on to a woman who would do anything for him. And would allow him to do whatever he pleased. There were plenty already willing to give him all they had and expect nothing in return. Amelia was right. There was a line forming. But the problem was the person. They would undoubtedly be gorgeous. Be great in bed. Be sweet and kind and overly considerate. They would best Amelia hands down every time. But they wouldn't be Amelia. That was the problem. That was the mountain of a problem he just couldn't scale.

He reached over, slid her back against him with a hard slam. And then began kissing her hard and wild. So wildly that he was back on top of her. And back inside of her. And back to doing her that wonderful way she loved, once again.
