Chapter 5

Jacob

An hour earlier

" C ome on people, hustle, hustle," Coach bellows from the sidelines.

I'm smoking all these other pussies, running circles around them. I just want this class to end so I can have lunch with my girl. I'm having Pickle withdrawals and only she can cure them. It's bad enough that Coach makes us run for practice, but now he has us running laps during gym.

I cross the white line, my last lap done and slow to a jog, not wanting my heart rate to drop too rapidly. I learned that the hard way when I first started playing sports. One episode of dizziness and fainting is enough to deter me forever. I learned the importance of a proper cool down to prevent blood pooling in your legs.

"Good job, Stoll. Keep that speed up," Coach yells and I give him a thumbs up as I do a casual jog for another lap. I can't help but laugh at the huffing and puffing from some of my classmates after running just six laps. You'd think they were avid smokers. That's chump change compared to what we do in lacrosse.

After the last curve, I walk the rest of the time. Coach places his shiny red whistle between his lips and blows, signaling that we can all head into the locker rooms. I just want to shower as quickly as possible so I can go have lunch with my girl and best friend.

Dylan wouldn't give a fuck if I smelled like shit, but I do. The only sweat I want her to smell is from us fucking. Just the thought of her riding my cock, her head thrown back and her tits bouncing as she fucks me into oblivion, has me praying I don't get a stiffie. Butterflies, cold water, grandma. I can't let myself become aroused in public. Especially not in front of Coach. That's fucking gross.

I take a second to stop by my locker to grab my towel and bag with my body wash in it before heading toward an open stall. Taking hold of the knob, I turn the cold water on full blast, and quickly wash my body. I'm hoping to beat Ford and Dylan to the cafeteria. I know he'll stop by her anatomy class to walk with her since he's right down the hall.

"Hey, man, are you sitting with us today?" Jamie asks as I step back into the locker room, towel wrapped around my waist.

"You know he ain't, man. He's going to be with his girl. Or is it Nickels' girl? It's hard to tell since you're both chummy with her," Carlos adds as he pulls his shirt out of his locker and over his head.

Ugh, he didn't even shower!

"Dude, how the hell did we not know Murphy was a girl? She played circles around y'all," John blurts.

"You're right. Murphy is a killer on the field. Knowing she was a girl was a team perk. You should've tried out." I smirk.

I open my locker and pull out the clothes I wore today, dropping them on the bench. Picking up my boxers, I step into them, then slide them up my legs underneath my towel. No way in hell I want to risk these fuckers seeing my cock.

"Oh, and Jamie, for the record, she's mine and Nickels' girl. Keep your eyes and hands off of her." It's time to set the record straight.

"What about the guy who kissed her after the game? Is he running a gang bang on her, too?" His words set me on fire and I'm across the room, my hands around his neck, as I hold him up against the locker.

"You fucking say another word about my girl and I'll fucking end your ass. Do you hear me?" He cowers, his body a shaking mess, as I threaten him.

"Yeah, damn. It was just a joke, man. Sorry." I squeeze tighter as his hands claw at mine and he gasps for air.

"Stoll, let him go, man. You don't want Coach coming in and seeing this," comes from someone behind me. I'm so pissed, I can't tell who it is.

I release him, and he falls to the floor, coughing. "Keep your mouth shut about Dylan and what just happened." I turn around to face everyone. "All of you, for that matter." I storm back over to my locker and finish dressing just as the end of the class bell rings.

I toss all my stuff into my gym bag, then cram it inside my backpack to take home and wash everything tonight. Normally, I'd wait another day, but I got too sweaty today.

I slip the straps over my shoulder and head straight to the cafeteria. I'm pissed off and the only thing that calms me is Dylan. She knows how to quell my anger like no one else.

When I get to the cafeteria doors, Dylan and Ford aren't there yet. I lean against the wall to wait, propping my foot up on it, and pull out my phone to play a game. One of my teammates has me hooked on this fucking Royal Match game; I haven't been able to beat the last level and it's killing me.

I glance up, expecting to see them but I don't. The longer I wait, the more antsy I become.

A few seconds later, I hear Ford's deep voice. "Hey, man, where's Dylan?"

I look up from my phone, slipping it into my pocket without a care, mid-game. "What do you mean? She should be with you. Didn't you go to her class and get her?"

"Yeah, I did, but she wasn't there. I got held up by my teacher about an assignment I turned in so I was a little late. When I reached her class, nobody was there. I just figured she had already headed here."

"Fuck, where could she be?" I pull my phone back out, checking to make sure I haven't missed a message. "She hasn't messaged me. Did she message you?"

He pulls his phone out and shakes his head."Fuck. Maybe she slipped by and is waiting inside or she went to the bathroom. Is she on her period this week?" We're her boyfriends, so that seems like some shit we should know. She wasn't this weekend but she could've started today.

Ford shrugs as walk inside, the onslaught of noises hitting our ears. When we don't see her, we go ahead and grab our food, getting some extra for her. Once we pay, we go to our table with a clear view of the door. One thing, or rather a person, is missing. Dylan! Where is she?

My stomach churns as dread seeps in. I see a girl who I know is in her class. What's her name again? Georgia, Sutton… no. What the fuck is it?

"Hey," I call, but she doesn't look my way. "Hey, you in the pink top." I stand up, stopping her as she goes to pass me.

"Can I help you?" Her eyes go wide in shock.

"Sorry, I couldn't remember your name. You're in my girlfriend, Dylan Murphy's, anatomy class, right?"

"It's Gloria, and yes. Why?"

"Was she in class?" I ask her.

"Yeah, but she got called to the office."

Nodding my thanks, I step out of her way and she leaves.

"Fuck, why would she be there?" Ford asks.

"Don't know. I'm going to message her to find out."

Just as I'm about to message her, both our phones vibrate.

We look at the same time and I see it's Dylan in our group message.

Dylan: I'm grounded indefinitely. Can't see you guys. :(

What the fuck. Grounded? Why?

"Do you think her mom found out?" I ask Ford.

Ford: That sucks. What happened?

Me: That's bullshit. Why?

Dylan: My mom found out I was playing lacrosse.

Dylan: She went on and on about how barbaric and unladylike I am when she took me home.

Ford: She's a fool. I think it's amazing you play.

Me: Same baby. And barbaric? I've seen your mother shopping. That's barbaric.

Dylan: That's not the worst part. The principal claims the opposing team wants to revoke our championship win because of me. The team's going to hate me.

Dylan: I don't want either of you to hate me if that happens.

Ford: You are one of the main reasons we won, Kitty.Me: We'll talk to Coach and see what we can find out. No rules were broken, so they don't have anything to justify their claim. The win is ours, fair and square.

Dylan: OK I got to go.

Ford: We're here for you. We love you.

Me: Always and forever. Love you Pickle. Call us later if you can.

Dylan: Thanks guys. I love you! And I'll try.

Once school is over, we'll go see Coach.

As soon as the last bell rings, we rush to Coach's office. We need to know what the fuck is happening and if they even have a chance of overturning our win.

His door is closed when we get to his office, but Ford's impatient ass pounds on it like a madman.

"Come in!" Coach shouts angrily from the other side.

Holding the handle, I open the door and enter the office. Ford is right behind me.

"I should've known it was the two of you."

"Is it true?" I don't waste any time getting to the point, needing to know what's going to happen.

"It is. There's no chance of it happening, though. I may have gotten a slap on the wrist for not being a hundred percent honest—"

"What do you mean? We didn't lie about anything," Ford blurts.

"Let me finish, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Technically, we did lie. We didn't say Murphy is a female."

"But it's not against the rules. We checked all the guidelines, Coach. Nowhere did it say a female couldn't play on the male team," I add.

"That's true, and that's the reason the win is not being overturned. Our championship win will remain intact."

"So we're still champions?" I ask, just needing a second confirmation.

"Yes, now get out of here. I have some calls I need to make." Coach waves his hands, dismissing us as he picks up his phone.

I give him a salute and turn, Ford already opening the door.

Relieved, we head to Ford's house. We haven't heard from Dylan since lunch and we're both getting worried.

I pull out my phone and go to open our group message, but then stop and switch over to our private one. While we're a throuple and open with most things, we still maintain our private chats with her. Some things just need to remain between the two of us.

Me: Hey Baby. Coach said the win won't be overturned.

Me: Are you okay?

Me: Can we call?

I see the bubbles appear, then disappear before my phone rings. I answer, putting it on speaker.

"Hey guys. I'm good, just pissed. I'm happy to hear we get to keep our win, though."

"Has your mom calmed down?" Ford asks, never taking his eyes off the road.

"No, she's even told me she's not paying for me to go to CSU if I major in sports medicine or play lacrosse. Without a full-ride scholarship, I can't attend. I'm either not going to college or I have to do what my mom wants and be miserable."

"We'll figure it out. There's no way in hell you're not going to play lacrosse. We still have a chance of being offered spots with the Outlaws," I remind her.

"Fat chance. Matthew is the scout. There's no way he's going to give one to me. Especially not if my mother doesn't like it. He messaged me earlier that we needed to talk. He most likely wants to make sure our parents don't find out about him kissing me or that any chance I had of a scholarship is gone now that they found out I'm a girl."

I can hear the desperation in her voice. All she's ever wanted is to play lacrosse and for her mother to accept it. Right now, my girl thinks she's lost both.

"Are you planning to talk to him?" Ford asks. "It may not be a bad idea to do so. He likes you, Dyl, and I think he'll do whatever he can to help you achieve your dreams."

I can hear her sigh through the phone.

"I'm not ready. Until I am, I'm just going to avoid him. I've got to go. Mom's calling me. Must be time for another lecture. See you tomorrow at school."

"I love you, Pickle," I tell her.

"Me too," Ford adds.

She laughs before telling us she loves us, then the line goes dead.
