Fifteen years ago

Blue and white lights flickered outside the window, calling for me to come and play. To dance among the crisp fall leaves as crickets serenade the wandering souls. But mama warned me time and time again to stay indoors, where it is safe. To ignore the call that beats in my blood, instead to sleep the night away. For, when morning comes, all will be well once more. The wildness inside me will take its turn to sleep and my mind will be at peace.
