Prologue

"Apeiros, you asshole!" I yelled, my voice cracking with frustration. "You were supposed to help me, not give me riddles! I banish you!"

The black-haired demon I had foolishly begun to fall for met my gaze with a look of regret, his purple eyes filled with a sorrow that pierced my heart. The summoning circle flared to life, and in an instant, he was sucked away, leaving me alone with the nagging doubt that I had just made a terrible mistake.
