Chapter 11

Eleven

Black-eyes

“You let her live?” I ask, sensing Asmodeus's presence before he even clears the trees.

“I didn’t let her live. I was just saving her for last. Besides, I didn’t exactly see you going after her either,” he snaps back, and yeah, he got me there.

“And what about you, Belphegor? Were you also saving her for last?”

He shrugs, completely unphased as usual. You would think that tonight, of all nights, he would be a little more lively, but no.

“She’s already injured. She’s probably going to drown.”

He seems sure, but I’m not, and I’m not willing to take the chance.

“Go find the others and make sure everyone else is handled. I’ll go after her and handle my meat suit while I’m at it,” I tell them, running a hand over my head.

Having hair instead of horns is a strange feeling, but I don’t hate it. If only he weren’t so damn loud, I wouldn’t mind wearing him a bit longer, but he’s been screaming at me not to hurt the girl since I entered the damn clearing.

Mortals are exhausting. Zero sense of self-preservation.

“Don’t make her suffer,” Asmodeus says, making me pause. He’s usually all for a bit of fun on these nights.

Belphegor and I turn to him, and I’m glad he seems to understand my confusion.

“What did you do?” Belphegor asks, seeming interested for the first time tonight.

“ I didn’t do anything,” he says with a smile. “But she’s the best damn pussy I’ve ever had the pleasure of hitching a ride in.”

Fuck, I should have known he would find a way to fuck one of them. Not that it would have been hard. It would seem they had come into the woods for that purpose, after all.

“Ugh, of course you did,” Belphegor mutters before shoving Asmodeus toward the trees. “Let’s get this over with before your meat suit starts to stink.”

They continue to bicker as they go, and I sigh as the boy screams in the back of my head. Unfortunately for me, he can hear everything the same way I do, and he’s not too happy to know what Asmodeus has been up to.

The good news is he’s at the end of his usefulness, so I won’t have to hear his whining much longer.

The sun will be up soon, which means we need to be rid of him and the girl.
