Chapter Six

Casey

Her body was on fire. Literally. From the skin, all the way through to her internal organs—from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Everything burned.

Casey figured out exactly what the aliens were doing. The compliance pool was nothing more than a vat of date rape drugs. After a few seconds of marinating in this sweet-smelling gelatin, any desire to say no... melted away.

Only that wasn't true. Casey knew she wanted to say no, but her body wouldn't give her that option.

But the few seconds of need quickly morphed into the worst pain of her life. Whatever was in this tub, Casey's reaction turned from a forced need to burning in hell pretty quickly.

It hurt. Every cell in her body hurt. That searing pain stole everything from her. She couldn't move, couldn't think, and it destroyed her ability to respond to anything. She couldn't open her eyes. It was too painful to move her lashes... or breathe. She had no idea if there was anyone left in the room with her.

It didn't matter. She didn't have the strength or the active brain cells to get out and away from this tub. The stabbing agony was so bad, she wanted to slip down and drown herself in the damn jelly. But she couldn't move. Once she succumbed to the drug's influence, the thick substance prevented all movement. The effort to wiggle a toe in the gelatinous mess caused a fiery blast of heat throughout every inch of her flesh.

She wanted to scream, but the attempt hurt too much. Each breath felt like shards of glass cut through her lungs. This truly was hell.

Casey lay there immobile, her body supported by the very substance that was driving her insane with pain. She was pretty sure her reaction wasn't what the aliens were going for. They'd planned to turn her into a panting, demanding female who would take all comers. Once again, her body's unique response to drugs had screwed everything up.

The fact that she hadn't become that sex-starved slave actually made her feel a little better. Instead of a nymphomaniac, the goo turned her into an almost comatose ball of torturous agony. She couldn't resist anything or run... but she wouldn't be begging someone to fuck her. Casey would take that as a win.

A heavy vibration shook the goo. Casey's only reaction was to wince. That sounded like an explosion. Oh, hell. Even if the building burnt down around her... she couldn't do anything about it. She couldn't even open her eyes.

Someone touched her. The shocking contact focused her pain in one spot. The breath left her body as they plucked her out of the liquid and cloth brushed over her flesh. Whoever it was scraped off the goo. Casey couldn't resist or comment. Soon, more material was wrapped around her body, locking her hands to her sides. They pulled the material over her head.

Then someone lifted her. Sending off shockwaves of agony throughout every nerve. Moaning, she tried to move, but the fabric restricted her body. "Oh, God... Make this stop. Please. Please?" she begged whoever held her.

A deep, soothing voice answered her. "My lady. You must be as quiet as you can be. We're escaping, and don't want to call attention to our efforts."

They shifted her around until she was being carried like a baby in someone's arms. Whoever this was, whispered quietly. She strained to hear what he said over the pounding anguish deep in her soul.

"We'll go out the back. My brothers will help us."

"I can't see!" Casey's voice rose in panic. No. She couldn't leave. Wiggling, every movement causing more pain, she fought to get free.

She couldn't escape. They'd hurt Cammy!

Movement slowed, then stopped. Her bottom was propped against something hard. A knee? The fabric was pulled away from her face. She sucked in air and struggled through the pain to open her eyes.

An alien male smiled down at her. "I'm Brodebic. We need to get out of here. Can you be quiet?"

She thought Brodebic was an incredibly handsome humanoid man. Though she wasn't really sure how to say his name. It didn't matter right now.

His dark brown eyes searched her face. The alien looked kind. And his long, dark hair looked soft, silky. If she could move, she'd reach out and touch it. His skin was the color of mint. She loved it.

Casey was pretty sure the green alien wanted to rescue her. But she couldn't go anywhere. Shaking her head, she moaned when the pain hit her again and closed her eyes. Panting, she whispered, "I can't go. They have my sister."

"Several of my brothers followed her. They will not stop until they've rescued your sister so that you can reunite on our ship."

Her eyes flew open. Casey was surprised at his answer. She inspected those brown eyes, wanting to believe. "You promise?"

"I promise. What is your name, my lady?"

"Casey. I'm Casey." Needles of pain stabbed through her again. She sucked in a breath and moaned. "My sister is Cammy." It was too hard to keep her eyes open. To talk. Every little thing hurt. She had to trust him. Closing her eyes, she pressed her lips together, hoping he would understand. She would be quiet.

Keeping her eyes closed, Casey kept the picture of the pastel-green man in her mind. She bit her lip, struggling through the torture of being jostled in his arms when he started walking. She would quietly endure anything in order to see her sister again.

The man... Brodebic, she thought he said... whispered in her ear as he walked. The sound of his voice helped her maintain control.

"Hang in there, Casey. We need to get you to the ship so you can wash this kack off your body. When we go through the door, there will be smoke obscuring our vision. It is there to conceal us. One of my brothers is at the bottom of the stairs with a small hovercraft. Another brother watches our backs. Your only job is to keep quiet and remain motionless for the few moments it will take me to get you to the hover. Can you do that?"

Kack? It took a moment, but eventually, her translator inserted shit . She had to agree with that. She needed to shower off this shit. Maybe the pain would stop. Casey wanted to tell him to hurry. To get her out of there and back to her sister. She sighed and bit back another moan. Managed to hiss, "Yes. Go!"

She didn't open her eyes when another man said, "Go, Brode. The smoke will cover you. Get her out of here!"

Concentrating on keeping the moans and gasps locked inside, Casey kept her eyes closed and took shallow breaths. Smoke burned her lungs. The pain didn't ease. In fact, it gained intensity. But it didn't take long before she felt the air change and heard a metallic door snick shut.

The Brode alien spoke again. "We're cloaked. No one can see the hover. We'll return to the landing dock and my ship. You don't have to be silent—no one will hear your pain."

Casey struggled to open her eyes. The sight before her proved they were in the air, moving away from her captivity. She gasped, "It's getting worse. Not better." Shaking her head, she tried again. "Searing pain, an empty ache. Do you know what that shit was? How to make this stop?" She didn't think she could take any more. Agony throbbed through her body. Each wave was stronger than the last.

She caught Brode's nod. His eyes remained on the view in front of them. Casey turned her head, amazed that there were other small hovers in front of them. The gorgeous, long-haired alien had no problem weaving in and out of the air traffic.

His deep voice was sad. "My captain, the other man with me, analyzed the substance. He took a sample of it for further research. We know the gelatinous mixture is a potent aphrodisiac that overrides your ability to choose. I wiped off as much as I could before wrapping you in the sheet. But you will need to bathe the rest from your body as soon as possible."

She couldn't stand it anymore. The next wave of pain doubled from the last and stole her sanity. Casey screamed through the agony that seemed to tear her body apart. She couldn't control the seizure or keep the darkness away.
