34. Epilogue
DAVON
One Year Later
A cry rang out, dragging me from where I slumbered beside Maggie in our big bed.
“I’ll go to her,” I said, sliding from the bed inside the crystal structure we now called home. I moved quietly across the big open space, though it hardly mattered how much care I took. Our daughter was hungry, and she was making her needs known to every member of the many clans living around us.
Maggie sat up in the bed, watching with a sweet smile while I took care of our daughter’s wet swaddle. Maggie called it a die-pair, though I wasn’t sure why. We’d always called it a swaddle, and we didn’t use anything else.
Paisley kicked her feet, grinning up at me, and I paused in my ministrations to kiss her belly, bringing out her low laugh. Her pale blue skin gleamed sweetly in the soft light, and while she didn’t have tusks, she had my silver hair. Her petite form was pure Maggie, however, and I couldn’t adore this youngling any more than I already did.
Finished with her swaddle, I lifted her and brought her over to my mate, gently placing her in Maggie’s arms. Paisley chortled and grinned up at Maggie, and my heart pretty much crushed itself against my ribs. There was nothing more beautiful than watching my mate tug aside her nightdress to expose her breast to our hungry daughter.
The pendant I’d bought for her long ago in the Veerenad city gleamed where it nestled between her breasts. My love never removed it.
While Paisley ate, I slid onto the bed behind Maggie and held them both in my arms.
Life was amazing. We’d settled inside a vacant crystal structure, and it didn’t take long for my clan to feel as if we’d lived here all our lives. I still sometimes missed the stark loneliness of the desert, but there was beauty in the peaks of the mountains, in the lavender grass waving in the wind. In the love growing in a Zuldruxian’s eyes when he first saw the woman the gods had gifted him with.
We’d made the gods release the women, and hearing that there were potential mates in the area, Zuldruxians came from everywhere, some from very far away. They courted the women, and love bloomed around us .
Maggie smiled up at me. “She fell asleep.”
“I’ll return her to her bed.”
“Do so, mate, because . . .” That spark flamed in her eyes. We’d only been together once since our daughter was born. My mate was tired, sore, and there was no way I’d ever rush such a thing.
I lifted our daughter and took her to her bed, covering her with a blanket before turning to stride back to Maggie.
She welcomed me with open arms and all of her heart.
And there couldn’t be anything better than that.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the Brides of the Zuldruxian Warriors Series as much as I have.
It’s sad to leave my guys and their lovely ladies behind. But there are more adventures to take, and new worlds to explore. I hope you come along with me.

First up is Fake Dating an Orc Cowboy . . .
What happens when a fake wedding date
with an orc cowboy starts to feel real?
Rosey : After my sorta boyfriend ditches me for my sister and they invite me to their destination wedding, I’m in a bind. I could go solo but my pride would take a hit. Then a creep won't leave me alone at a bar, and an orc in cowboy armor swoops in to save me. Ostor both charming and bumbling, and despite him licking my palm in an almost ritualistic way, I like him, so I spontaneously invite him to be my fake plus one for the wedding. Sharing a room with Ostor takes a surprising turn when our fake relationship slides in a new direction, and I start falling in love. When the weekend’s over, will my romance with this orc cowboy be a fleeting fling or can I lasso real love?
Ostor : I’m only in town to solidify contracts for the new wild west tourist town my orc brothers and I have built when I meet Rosey. One touch, and I know she’s my fated mate, so I mark her in the ancient orc way. When she invites me to attend her sister’s wedding as her fake date, I jump at the chance to show her what we’ve found together should be anything but pretend. She’s cute and funny, and she makes my blood roar. Before the weekend’s over, I'm determined to claim her as my orc bride. Can I convince her to make this real ?
