While we went to Hyde Park for the Winter Wonderland event, unbeknownst to Sirah, all her personal belongings were being brought to my house. My father had agreed to come to my house to move her things into my house. We had one more stop before we returned home.
“Oooh, I saw this on Insta,” Sirah said as she dragged me towards a massive red truck with a wooden food stall beside it.
The Texas Smoker .
I glanced at the menu for brisket, pork, ribs, and turkey legs. The instant scent of delicious smokey meat made me disregard the dangers of festival food stands.
“Damn, those are the biggest sausages I've ever seen,” Sirah said in astonishment.
“Are you sure?” I asked, staring at the long but skinny smoked sausages.
Sirah laughed and smacked my shoulder as she pulled me towards the menu.
“Feed me,” she demanded as her arm tightened around mine.
“Anything for the mother of my babies,” I responded immediately but kept my eyes on her face.
My heart fluttered when her smile broadened. In all the time I had followed, watched, and obsessed over Sirah, I had never seen her look as happy as she was at that moment. I let go of her arm and held her cold cheeks in my hands to kiss her.
She melted against me, and in the backdrop of the crowd noise, I kissed her as if she were a long-lost love returning to me. I moved my hands to hide our kiss as I softened my kiss and eased my tongue into her mouth. My eyes closed when I felt her cold fingers touch my neck.
This was the final stage, accepting her fate .

I lay awake that night, unable to believe that Sirah was truly mine. It wasn't ideal that my mother had booked me in for therapy in a few weeks, but it might help with the anxiety I was feeling. Ryan Taylor was a fool to have lost Sirah. When his mother came to Sirah’s door, she had been enraged because of the state of her son.
Warner had followed my instructions and threatened his livelihood to prevent him from pursuing Sirah. Lillian dropped him as soon as she was paid, and the other two women left as soon as she told them he was cheating on them as well as his wife. I would have the pleasure of driving him out of my city.
I pulled Sirah closer to me and moved my leg over hers. There was nothing I wouldn't do to keep her, and this was the thought that kept me awake. The worry that someone would try and steal her away from me or she would discover the depth of my obsession with her.
The sooner I got her pregnant, the better it would be for my peace of mind. A smile touched my lips as I thought of our children. It lulled me into a deep sleep as my troubled thoughts washed away into the background.
