Epilogue
A rchie grabbed his bag, threw it over his shoulder, and vaulted off the boat, landing on the dock with a satisfying thud. "Thanks, Montgomery. It was a great trip out," he said. I'll look into those sailing lessons. It sounds like a blast."
"I'll be looking forward to seeing you bright and early one of these mornings," Montgomery said, waving at him. "This island is a lot of fun. Don't waste a second of your time here."
"That's my plan," he said, starting to back away from the boat. Two weeks of pure fun, and I've earned it. Thanks again."
"No problem, Dr. Robinson," Montgomery said. But don't forget to take some downtime. There's nothing better than sitting on the beach and watching the sun go down."
"I'll remember that," he said, then turned to head up to the village, still looking over his shoulder. "See you later."
Before he could turn his head, he bumped into something soft that smelled good, and heard a feminine gasp of surprise. Slightly off balance, he reached out to steady himself and bumped up against the woman again. He was shocked when she let out a cry of alarm and shrank away from his touch as if he was going to hit her. He quickly stepped back, throwing his hands up in the air, noticing the dark glasses she wore, her pale skin, and the way she trembled when he looked at her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you," he said, taking another step back. "Are you okay? Can I help you in some way?"
The woman shook her head, making the riot of wild blonde curls that framed her face bounce wildly, "It was my fault," she squeaked. "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
"Well, as long as you're not hurt," he said, reaching out to her. "Maybe I can help you……"
"Hey, what's going on here?" a woman interrupted, racing up to them. "Leave my friend alone, she doesn't want a strange man coming onto her."
"I didn't…… I wasn't……" he tried to defend himself, but the two women were already walking up the dock. "Doing anything wrong…..."
