HARPIES ARE RUDE

D aphne

I was still reeling from the most intense mind-shattering orgasm I had ever experienced in my life. Adam withdrew his tongue and his finger but kissed my stomach. He pinched my belly, and I lifted a lid to glare at him, but then I realized…

He loved every soft curve I had. The look on his face was one of reverence, his mouth kissing every part of me with a diligence that was flooring.

Andrew rose above him, studying me with a satisfied smirk.

"I think we'll leave this here for now. We need to get on the move. If you want another orgasm, you will need to get dressed and come with us. Adam, if you want a release— you'll need to do the same."

I wasn't sure about Adam, but I'd never been this motivated in my entire life. Adam grunted, planted a kiss on my mouth, and then rolled off the bed with a groan.

"Not fair," he mumbled, pulling on his pants quickly.

Andrew winked at me and gathered my clothes, bringing them to me.

My entire body felt like jelly as I sat up and moved to the edge of the bed. Andrew leaned down, gripping my jaw as he planted a full kiss on my lips.

He left me breathless and back to having an ache between my thighs.

"We have to keep moving," he whispered. "But the next stopping point, I will fill you."

The promise stunned me but also motivated me to get dressed again. The three of us were ready to continue after a few minutes, with Adam grabbing a bag and packing water with some snacks.

Time was beginning to melt together, it felt like, and I found myself wondering how long it had been since I had eaten.

"We'll eat at the next stop," Andrew said.

Before I could respond, I was swept up by him.

"I can walk?—"

His glare silenced me.

"We'll move faster if one of us carries you," Adam chimed in, smiling at me. "Alright. Are we ready? I'm certain this is the last time we will be in this room."

"I hope so," Andrew muttered.

I glanced over his shoulder as he stepped back out into the library. We were greeted with deafening silence and the familiar musk of dusty pages.

The shelves had changed, which was mind-boggling. The heavy oak shelves had changed to stone and were shorter than before. I looked up at the ceiling and realized that it had changed too. Now, natural light shifted through the space— coming from windows that I could not see. The ceiling had a painting that was the same as the illustration of the dragon in the book I had seen. The difference was, now the books around the dragon were on fire.

This place was bizarre.

The silence was edged with tension as the three of us moved down the row. Adam moved ahead of us, leading the way. His shoulders were massive, almost brushing the shelves to either side of us.

There hadn't been a moment in my life that I had thought I would end up in a scenario like this. Being carried by a Cyclops in a hellish library after having one of the best orgasms of my life.

I held onto Andrew and peeked over his shoulder.

My blood turned to ice.

Staring at us from the end was a creature with tawny wings for arms, raptor claws for feet, and the face of a Gucci model. Somehow, the last part was the most disturbing. Its body was covered in feathers, and there was a rabid look in its eyes.

It was a harpy.

"Andrew," I whispered.

"I know," he huffed, his pace quickening.

Adam seemed to know too. Our pace turned from a brisk walk to a light jog. Their footsteps lost stealth, turning into heavy pounds.

I continued to stare at the creature as it stalked us, following. It grinned at me and opened its mouth, letting out a terrifying screech.

Andrew cursed as we shot out into a path that went down between hundreds of rows. He took off running, and I buried my face into the crook of his neck.

I was terrified and would admit it to anyone.

" Grab the human! "

Andrew was suddenly shoved as a body slammed into the both of us. We hit the ground, and I rolled from his grip.

"Adam!" Andrew yelled.

I scrambled to my feet, looking around wildly. Adam was moving towards me when wings suddenly hugged my entire body.

" Human— "

Two burly hands ripped the wings apart, revealing none other than Adam. His face was twisted in rage, his eye burning with an intensity that made me squeal.

The harpy screeched louder than a stereo at a frat party, and I was yanked free. Adam shoved the creature back, the two of them diving into a fistfight.

To my right, Adam was pummeling the harpy against one of the shelves. To my left, Andrew was battling the harpy that had tackled us.

That left me defenseless, which I became painfully aware of the moment I decided to look up.

Another harpy, one with phthalo blue feathers and the face of a god, was balanced on top of one of the shelves— staring right at me. He grinned, craning his neck like an owl.

" Lost, little human? "

All of the sounds around me were lost to the rush of my blood and the hammer of my heart. I swallowed, my chest swelling with panic.

His head cocked the opposite direction, unnatural in the way his neck twisted. " You look like you'd make a delicious snack. How about you take a harpy mate instead of the two of them? "

As if now was the time to flirt. I knew that I shouldn't, but I still laughed.

The laughter cut through the other noises, and I realized that all had gone silent.

I looked over at Adam and Andrew and realized that they had knocked the other harpies unconscious.

The two of them were immediately at my side, glaring up at the flirt.

He chortled, a weird sound gurgling from his throat. " Your rejection will not be taken lightly. You will not make it out of here alive."

I scoffed, glaring at him. "You're a fucking?—"

Before I could finish my sentence, Adam scooped me up and ran. The harpy screeched and lifted from his perch, dive-bombing us like one of those birds that hung out in grocery store parking lots.

I heard a sickening snap but didn't bother to look back, knowing that Andrew was pummeling the creature into the pretty checkered floors.

I buried my face against Adam as he ran, focusing on his scent.

There were a few things that I had learned in my short time in the library. One, cyclopes were real. Two, harpies were real. Three, the world was a lot crazier than I had originally thought. And four…

I wanted to be in another room with Adam and Andrew.

I wanted them to touch me, to fuck me. I wanted the promise that Andrew had made to be fulfilled.

I had never felt this alive in my entire life. Even with the looming danger, the crazy dragon, and the ridiculous curse— all I could think about was how good that orgasm had been. Giving Andrew the control had been…

What I'd always wanted. All the dark, dirty desires that thrived in my soul had been brought to the surface just by his touch. The idea of being touched by him, of being worshipped by Adam… Hell, even the idea of being in a threesome was completely exhilarating.

"I can't hear your thoughts, little dove, but I'd like to," Adam drawled, stepping into cool shadows.

His steps slowed as he moved down the row. I lifted my face, looking up at him.

"Are you scared?" he murmured.

"No," I whispered, heat rising in my cheeks. "No, I'm not scared at all, which is the scary thing."

"Even of all the monsters in this place? Of me? Of Andrew?' "

"No. I might be crazy, but I want both of you. I…" The heat became almost unbearable. My heart hammered in my chest, my blood pumping. I felt like I was in a confessional— if the priest was a massive cyclops with a violet eye.

How long would it take until that was me?

Adam came to another door and kicked it open, bringing me inside. It was yet another lost room, one that was filled with oddities. There was one window that allowed light to surround us. More shelves, more books, and then jars and baubles here and there.

Not one speck of dust covered any of it, which was unnerving in and of itself.

There was no desk this time, but there was a plush chair with a blanket folded in the seat. The floor was marble, aside from the rug at the center.

Adam slowly let me down, and I wobbled for a moment, gripping him. He made sure I was okay before offering me a smile.

"Are you certain you want this?" Andrew's voice speared the room.

I looked up to see him step in, closing the door softly behind him.

In the light, I could see that he had suffered some bruises and scratches. Nothing major, but still a blunt reminder that the three of us were fighting for our lives right now.

"Daphne," Adam murmured, cocking his head as he looked down at me.

Both of them were too damn hot to be monsters.

"I want both of you," I said hoarsely. "I… I don't know what the hell is wrong with me but, I need you. I need this. It's a hunger."

"We feel it too," Adam said softly, offering me a gentle smile.

In contrast, Andrew's face darkened. His green eye blinked, his gaze falling to the floor for a moment. His muscles were still teeming with energy left over from the adrenaline, and I could see that he was fighting himself.

"You promised," I challenged, crossing my arms.

There was a moment of silence, and I realized that I had really just thrown the gauntlet down.

Adam grinned, stepping past me. His hand came to rest on my shoulder for a moment. "You've done it now, little dove."

"Come here, Daphne," Andrew said, looking down at me.

The moment his gaze fell on me, my stomach burst with butterflies. I felt my breath leave me as if I had been punched, the feeling of anticipation melting into something entirely more forbidden. Something that I had been told over and over growing up I shouldn't feel.

Lust.

Not the Hallmark kind.

The kind that you read about in the dirtiest of romance books. The kind that you found in the corners of the internet. My pussy gave a light flutter, my words dying on my tongue.

"Daphne," he said again, his voice a lot deeper. A lot rougher. " Come. Here. "
